Saying 765 CFM is very misleading. That's in the housing. Only 465 CFM at the pipe.

I was thinking about buying this, are all CFM calculated this way? I'm just try to get a reliable blower at a fair price.
Thanks.

Each blower has an in the housing and an in the pipe CFM rating. I'm my mind, what matters to a user is how many cubic feet per minute of material it can move at the pipe. You're not moving material in the housing.
To me, 465 is very low by today's standards. You're probably not wanting to spend $650 on the echo 9010, but it's around 1100 CFM, or almost three times the ability. Pardon the pun, but you will blown away by it. There are also many in between.

What a pain in the arse these are to start then put on while running and blowing. They should be electric start.

Significant added weight to do that.
And really, it's not that hard to start them and put them on

Lithium jump start packs that could clip to your belt wouldn't add any significant weight. The tiny starter wouldn't add much weight. It would be the cost that could be the deterant.

Ive had this exact blower for about 13 years now. I bought a refurb from Slickdeals back then. This is a great blower that starts on the 2nd pull (and exactly and always on the 2nd pull) EVERY time. Regarding the power, I feel it is very adequate. It can blow wet leaves and move small stones. Id buy the same exact one if mine ever dies.

I bought this and you were right, it's going back to the store, I couldn't believe how weak the output is, I've had an electric Toro forever and it blows harder than this monster.
I'll continue to use my Toro with a 100' 12 gauge drop cord.

I think those electric toros are about 700cfm at the pipe, so you'd be losing a third of your capability

Believe me my Toro blows much more air, just used it to finish what the tank of Husqvarna didn't finish.
My dad has a toro look's about the same as mine but his didn't blow as hard as mine, love my Toro, just don't like the cord.

It's my first gas blower. I can tell it's not as powerful as my neighbors stihl but at under 300$ I'm good with it. Once it dies then I'll upgrade to a more powerful one. I have to clear about .25 acres so not a massive yard.

As far as starting it, put the choke at half and it will start first pull every time.

I went in to purchase the biggest one they had when i noticed this unit lowered to 279. I couldn't pass it up. At this price i could have a chest and backpack blower and dance around causing small tornado's in my yard!!

Absolutely not. You start them on the ground. Let him idle warm up a little bit and then you grab the right shoulder strap with your left hand. Pick it up and in one motion sling it over your right shoulder by putting your right arm through the right shoulder arm strap. It becomes like a art form. Man, it's really easy. With all these wafy gen. Z kids that can only pick up a PS5 controller. I imagine them having some problems
