Can someone weigh in on how these perform compared to the XR's? Mostly using these for household projects, nothing heavy. I've always only had the XR's, but I could use a couple of extras, so was looking for an opinion on these…thanks.

I've used both and while the XR have more power and last longer the regular ones work just fine

These are the same as 8ah XR battery, DeWalt changed the looks recently. Scroll to the second picture on Lowe's website.

I see that, thanks. Looking into it a little further (which I probably should have done in the first place) they've totally re-vamped the battery lines. They've done away with the XR signification, except for the PowerStack and PowerPack lines.

As a double stack 2XXXX cell battery these should have plenty of chooch, but are presumably being replaced by or are at least second banana to the "Powerpack" 8ah that uses tabless 2XXXX cells which are now the ones that wear the giant XR branding as well.
