It's about the brand not the source country. Iphone is made in china. Amazon basics isn't going to put their brand on something that'll burn your house down.

probably AliExpress or Temu. Lots of Chinese electronics for very low prices. But you would have to decide if the low cost is worth the risk. Personally I wouldn't trust my gadgets with them.

Agreed. My Wewatch 30W GaN chargers are smaller. And they cost $3 each. And shockingly, they've been super reliable. (I must admit I was concerned given all the chatter on these pages about "a no name Chinese brand.")

As an FYI, even iPhones now charge at 40Ws (at least for a while). So 30W chargers won't give you the maximum charging speed. (You may or may not care, of course.)

This AmazonBasics 30W GaN charger appears to be made in Vietnam. Not sure if I consider than more trustworthy than Chinaese-made when it comes to expensive electronics, but what do I know.

I have seen a handful examples those no name brand chargers bricking laptops with PD charging. Phones seem to be better at negotiating the bad chargers down to slow speeds and still seem to work but laptops require higher power and end up their PD chipsets fail.

I'd just add that it does seem the general consensus is yhatVietnam has better manufacturing standards than the run of the mill Chinese manufacturing companies/lines.

Things that are higher quality from certain brands that are manufactured in China are because the "brand" has negotiated/contracted for higher levels of components, design, QC, etc. (to varying degrees).

I ordered 2 and received them on Sunday. They are UL listed in US and Japan. They charge my iPhone 14 Pro a lot faster than Anker 20w PD block. I have good experience with Amazon basics products. They are great value. Always look for best value instead of cheapest.

We ordered those 30W Wewatch GaN chargers about a year ago from Wewatch directly. I found the deal posted here, so you can search for it and you'll see. We ordered ten of them for $30. We also ordered 3-port 65W GaN chargers for $11 each. All of them are going strong, no issues. I'm suing one to power my laptop as I'm typing this.

Non name? This is Wewatch we are talking here!!!
Seriously though, I'm using a 65W Wewatch GaN charger to power my laptop as I'm typing this. It's been going strong for a year or longer. No issues. I've been using their 65W and 30W GaN chargers. We use them to charge Surface Pros, iPhones, other laptops, iPads, Apple Watches, LED lights, power banks, etc. No issues whatsoever. Their GaN chip seems to be doing a fine job.

Always torn about buying Amazon Basic. On one hand, it's a good price. On the other, they're just ripping off other companies' products and using their monopoly to put other companies out of business. In the long term, we're screwed if they take ove.r
