HUGE fan of rechargables and have a nice collection but sadly some devices care about that voltage drop of 1.2v for NiMh vs 1.5v for Alkalines and such.

Granted, the number of these devices in my house is in single digits (thermostats and a Logitech Harmony remote) but they do exist.

This is a fantastic deal but I suspect the batteries would go bad before I could use them all in those few devices.

Yeah, exactly. I don't have kids, I have elderly parents and I don't trust them to not throw away expensive rechargeables.

As for people not knowing why one would use so many batteries, almost all decorative lights these days are battery powered.

I am tired of rechargeable's w/lower voltage and less mAh's and have gone back to Alkaline that tend to give me a yr worth of service in my devices like clocks and temperature sensors.
I hate having to resync the thermometers and remotes every month....case in point are clocks that did not automatically receive the time change signal Sunday morning.due to low voltage cells.

I never had 5% coupon on batteries. Furthermore If I bought AA batteries and came back to order AAA batteries, there will be no 30% coupon for S&S

In for a set. Just in time as my AA stash ran out. rechargeables have its uses too but sometimes this is needed.

As everyone else says, rechargeable is the way to go. Buy something good like Eneloops and don't look back. With that said, there can still be a use case for disposable. They are good for long-term, low-drain situations like TV remotes. I'm STILL using the original batteries that came with my TV remote from nearly 10 years ago. Granted, if you want to dedicate some rechargeables for that task, they will also work just fine.

For those wondering how someone can use these before they expire, they DO have a ten year shelf life. Take that with a grain of salt, but it's not too far fetched to use 10 batteries a year if you haven't gotten on the rechargeable bandwagon yet.

Bad reviews seem to claim batteries aren't at full capacity so they die very fast. One person said they tested them at only 3/4 charge. Almost every 1-2 star review is saying they die super fast. :/
