Been doing research that included this model, plus others, versus latest OLED model from LG. Still sounds like the LG OLED is the way to go - but it comes at a cost of about 1k more for 83 inch G4. Next year models aren't too far away - these prices will dip much lower on 24 models if people want to wait.

I have been using LCD model Sony SmartTV for a few years and I have to say I am very disappointed by native Android TV system. The user experience is way worse than Apple TV. Even the volume up/down doesn't feel smooth. Google fails to deliver a decent OS here. It's a pity that Sony had to let Google control its top brand products. AndroidTV really sucks!

Using Beach Camera as a seller on Amazon is showing $3,798.00 but only 3 left it seems. Been debating this or the TCL QN8 85" or LG G4 83"... we watch a lot of DirecTV DVR related material and seems the processing I hear is best on Sony's.

I still prefer a native app system on the TV and app support is much better on android TV's than anything else. Also Apple TV requires another device, which you are free to use. I personally like using the apps on my TV instead of needing another remote.

ARC my friend. One controller for all AND not compromising on slow TV OS

I have the x95k version of this and watch it daily. Absolutely love it. Can't beat Sony hardware quality and image processing.

The appeal of this model is that it is insanely bright.

It is their flagship this year because of this -- and it's apparently also very good at blacks with minimalist/no blooming, to the point that the pros out weighed the cons and Sony decreed that this is their best option. Their Bravia 8 is still OLED. Which I mention only to stress that Sony thinks this is their superior product.

I want one because I'm gonna put it outdoors (covered) and need brightness; not sure I'll actually pay that much for a secondary TV tho

Actually...Sony considers the A95L OLED to be their flagship

if you are familiar with Sony products their flagship product usually is in their line up for at least 2 years

I totally agree. I rush to add Apple TV and hide from Google TV but it's still ugly AF in the OS and settings screen.

My view is google will also deliver the most minimal product possible to get their ads in front of you, and no more.

You should read what Sony says about it
"Our flagship OLED TV powered by Cognitive Processor XR™ brings out our widest colour and definitive contrast"

https://electronics.sony.com/tv-v...Z9ETSKv5DF

You realize the the A95L is more expensive than the Bravia 9 as well right
That and the multiyear production of it speaks to what Sony always does with their flagship models...if you know the history of Sony TV's
