Yeah low risk. I have the TV set and I'm very happy with it if you aren't spoiled by OLED.

It's replacing lg c2 oled 77 in living room which will replace vizio led-lcd 65 in bedroom. 97 oled for $18k+ is never going to be feasible

If I am not mistaken, this one isn't mini led. I am guessing no dimming zones.

No mini led but VA FALD panel so dimming zones. 100U7N has 256 Zones with 800 nits while 98QM751G has 1500 Zones with 2400 nits). Technical specs look FAR superior but real life experience does actually NOT that FAR. I checked at a BB side by side. PQ is noticeably better in TCL but with current deals 100U7N is 700-800$ cheaper including everything (adding 3rd party 4Y warranty to TCL). Both looks great options honestly.

Display models in commercialized preview mode, in a bright store room, will not give you an accurate picture (pun intended) of performance at home.

Damn, I just bought the Hisense 100U7N yesterday at costco because this had gone back up to 2799 after briefly being 2456. Had i known this would be 2299 I probably would have got this.
I'll end up keeping the Hisense for the peace of mind of 5 years of warranty, and transporting and setting up a 100" TV is not something I want to do again for a long time. TCL picture seeing side by side on store demo content was a bit better in my opinion but the Hisense is great too, even hd signal off an antenna.

I agree but my evaluation still stands as both TVs are great for their respective deals prices. If one wants better blacks and more brightness then one for sure should get a mini led TV rather than VA FALD. Since OLEDs of these size go for a used car price tag actually these are incredible prices for 98/100 inch TVs with good/very good PQ. I also did not decide yet. Maybe skip these models and wait for 2025 as CES 25 is 2 months away.

AllState insurance isn't anything to brag about. Check out Reddit for their wonderful review of it. They are offering bottom of the barrel QLED for OLED. https://www.reddit.com/r/4kTV/com...tion_plan/

I also check it out side by side as other people in the previous thread TCL. It's noticeable PQ. Everyone who bought 100" u70 Hisense will justified their purchased it isn't that huge differences. If it isn't, I wouldn't have pay more for insignicant differences and Hisense wouldn't have made U7N/U8K mini-LED with more local dimming zones and higher brightness.

Alot of people would be happy with the Costco deal coming from old LED or projector TV with the PQ. This deal is for people who don't want to pay 98" OLED TV and accept a decent compromise. U70/76 contrast and dimming zones is acceptable but didn't wow me coming from Sony X900H and TCL mini-LED.

You said it isn't that far off yet the next sentence "PQ is noticeably better" lol

If the Costco has the U7N mini LED or U8K/N on sale, it would be comparable.

Some people are upgrading from OLED TV and mentioned it blow older OLED TV model 2016.
"Picture quality. This tv, in a lot of ways, blows my LG OLED from 2016 out of the water. "
"Pros:

Brightness level (reportedly at 2,000+ nits)
Good black levels (in an average lit room)
Playing HDR content (pretty much all HDR formats supported)
Gaming features (VRR, ALLM, 120hz panel, gaming bar)
Google O/S
Sound (can get away without a soundbar)
Design (looks premium)
Outstanding value

Cons:

Motion is good but not great
Image processing is average
Thus, not great for SDR Cable or Low Quality Youtube watching"

I've been watching alot DV high quality Atmos stream and I'm still very impress with the PQ. U70N didn't wow me when I was there compared side to side at BestBuy and another viewing at Costco

Skip this one Better off buying Hisense U8K for $700 more. Much better performance.
If you ignore the well known QA/QC issues with Hisense, then the U8's are a really nice TV on paper, sure. But if you spend $3000 on a 100" TV and it craps out on you, you're gonna be pretty pissed.
I'd personally be happy to roll the dice with Hisense on something cheaper/smaller, but at this size and price point, I'd be a little too risk averse for it.

Yes I particularly chose those words because 98QM7 is superior by technology/specwise on the paper and PQ difference is (expected) noticeable against 100U70N but NOT far superior as the pure specs suggest. I owned VA FALD, Mini-led and OLED TVs along with Epson LS800 lazer UST with 120 inch ALR screen. Therefore I find myself quite comfortable to compare these devices. Neither of them OLED and neither of them are top of the line models in their segments but owners of both can enjoy their TVs. Having different models from a manufacturer do not render any of their product inferior, it is market segmentation. 100U70N holds its value as much as 98QM7 based on the current deala. Such warranty may or may not make sense for some yet it is something that costs so it wouldnt be right to compare without it. Evaluating %35 cost difference and its worth is up to the people those going to pay for it. I would be more inclined to mini-led at this point.
