I posted this helmet a few months ago from Als and figure i'd add a couple of things:

1) Slickdealers complain that Als ships helmet in bags. i.e. you helmet will come in the mfg packaging in a bag, no additional box or padding. This was true for my helmet. I live 20min away so not a big deal, but if you're shipping across the country, you may end up with some damage or unknown impacts depending on handling.

2) This helmet has a weird fit - it is really boxy in the back and the adjustments sit pretty far down and forward - personally this give me a headache. Def not as comfortable as the Smith helmets I wear almost daily.

I posted this helmet a few months ago from Als and figure i'd add a couple of things:

I'm sure you will, i'm just coming from lower profile helmets that are commute focused and have less coverage.

This is a MTB helmet. They have more protection in the back and sides of the head than commuter/road helmets.

I'm aware and have a Smith Engage (MTB Helmet) and all my ski helmets have side/rear coverage. None of them feel as awkward as this Giro.

Just bought a Troy Lee A2 helmet for $60 older stock, tried this Giro on at a bike shop to see how they felt. The Giro felt awkward and uncomfortable.

As someone with a round, but not actually that large (by circumference) head, this is my helmet of choice. It allows me to actually wear a medium instead of sizing up to a large which is very nice. I find it quite comfortable and actually for a second one this year when my og one hit the deck. Buying a spare to sit on the shelf sounds like asking for trouble though...

I struggle with finding a helmet for my round head as well, and searching bike forums I bought a Giro Hex that seems to work well, is this similar fit? (Btw I learned that our head shape requires "Asian fit" helmets).

I haven't tried the hex, but this one works great for me. There's definitely some helmets out there marketed for Asian/round fit, but not very many and almost never in stores. When I wanted a full face,I had to order 11 helmets to find 2, in the last order of course, that would work
