Haven't seen this posted yet, but with the ongoing promotion of Buy More Save More for Milwaukee Packout at Home Depot, you can get the 3 piece set of the Milwaukee Rolling Packout combo set for $149.38 after doing the hack. Lowest I have seen for the three piece combo set.

Step 1 - Add the PACKOUT 22 in. Rolling Tool Box, 22 in. Large Tool Box and 22 in. Medium Tool Box ProSystem LP Handle [homedepot.com]
Step 2 - Add the PACKOUT Customizable Work Top [homedepot.com]
Step 3 - Add the PACKOUT Tool Tray with Quick Adjust Dividers [homedepot.com]
Step 4 - Add the PACKOUT 5-Compartments Small Parts Organize
[homedepot.com]

Or you can add each one by clicking on the "Shop This Offer" below the "Buy More, Save More" promotion ticker on the right hand side of the item page.

After you have added all the items to cart, the total for all four items will be $250.01 with the Rolling Combo set reduced to $149.38. The Milwauke PACKOUT 22 in. Rolling Tool Box with LP handle alone is $159.00.

You can either return the other items or not pick them up from your local Home Depot store.

QA note: I was able to get OP's prices by following the OP's instructions, but adding 2 of the parts organizers instead of 1. YMMV.

I'm getting $180 return value for the 3 stack and 280 total. Maybe it's a ymmv. my 3-stack is 329 to begin with.

FYI I had to add (2) 5 Compartments Small Parts Organizer to get to the next tier of discount and made the subject combo ~$150

Interesting. On my end, I'm seeing the Combo set as $239.00 after a $90.00 discount. Below is the price breakdown I'm seeing in my cart.

PACKOUT 22 in. Rolling Tool Box, 22 in. Large Tool Box and 22 in. Medium Tool Box ProSystem LP Handle - $239.00
PACKOUT Tool Tray with Quick Adjust Dividers - $39.97
PACKOUT 20 in. Deep Small Parts Organizer with 6 Compartments and Quick Adjust Dividers - $64.97
PACKOUT Customizable Work Top - $56.07
Sub-Total - 400.01
Minus $150 Buy More Save More discount
Grand Total - $250.01

Maybe it is YMMV Confused

So I got there with
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../330035447
https://www.homedepot.com/p/PACKO.../319240737
and
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../317039249
and it allowed me to split the order up with me getting the packout stack shipped to home with the rest sent for in-store pickup for some reason. This was the only way I could get it down to $149 for the stack.

I was able to get the $149 price by adding 2x work tops and 1x 11-compartment parts organizer.

I got close (150.04) by adding the three drawer system to the package. My total was $253 before taxes. Thanks OP.

I've been looking at getting into a tool organization system to store all the loose tools in my shop.

The systems I've seen so far are the following:

  • Milwaukee Packout
  • Klein Modbox
  • Tanos/Festool Syscontainer
  • Dewalt Toughsystem
I have a couple Festool tools and really like their containers, but thought they were extremely expensive. I started looking into the other systems but they all seem really expensive too. I feel like if I'm going to pay a bunch for some containers I might as well get the ones I like (I like the t-lock on the Tanos syscontainers).

Are there any options for tool storage boxes that connect together nicely, don't have a million clasps, and aren't extremely expensive? (To be clear I think this is a decent deal, I just don't think it's good enough for me to decide to go all in on the Packout system over one I think I prefer.)

Is this good for a home DIYer who doesn't move his tools outside his home?

No. Just buy a toolbox.
