I keep hearing about wyze issues, but I have 6 wyze cameras for almost 3 years now and the only issue I have experienced is from my own negligence. I put a camera on the ground and didn't put the silicone sleeve over the micro usb connection and it corroded over the 4 months that I had it there. I put a micro SD card in all of them, and have a decent router, but seriously zero issues...

It's Wyze...anyone who deals with them knows just how unpredictable they are.

I have multiple Wyze products that work well but these specific cameras are terrible. At least, without subscription.

The playback interface is VERY cumbersome compared to the indoor cameras. Many recorded videos won't show on the app and the cameras won't record longer than 12 seconds.
The only reliable way to see the videos is to take the SD card and access it with a phone or a PC.
I've returned mine.

Is someone on here actually own these cameras and is happy with them?
You're doing it wrong. The app is not cumbersome at all. You open the app and push play, that's all.

Technically, Roku slaps their name on the dame product that Wyze slaps their name on. Wyze doesn't make them.
Wrong.

Looks like a good deal. How's the light on these? Are they bright enough?

The hand is from their adult line?

Bought this, but it's getting returned.

Things I dislike:
  • Continuous recording on battery lasts maybe half a day or less (not unexpected)
  • Without a subscription, even local event recording is subject to 12 second limit and 5? minute cool down between recordings
I don't have a problem with the battery life with continuous recording, but in combination with the local event recording restrictions, it heavily restricts the usefulness without a subscription.

No more subs. I'm getting sub fatigue getting nickeled and dimed for all the different product/services I own. What a time to be alive.

With a Cam Plus license, you can set the camera to record motion events with no cooldown period and up to 5 mins video length. For cameras without a Cam Plus license, the length of the local video will be around 12 seconds with the same recording cooldown period.

Yup can confirm. Wyze makes excellent cameras. I had an OG wyzecam that I JUST replaced with a v3 and it's been running for about 9 years. I've had a couple of wyzecams on the outside as well and as long as you put them in some sort of makeshift (or 3D-printed) outdoor cover they're good to go - I've even experimented with one without an outdoor cover in a more covered area and no issues going strong for 2 years now. My family and I combined have purchased about 15-20 of these cameras for various business uses and we've only had to replace 3 of the OG ones to replace with the newer v3 models after multiple years.

I have more issues with the SD cards than with the wyze cameras themselves but now I just spend the extra money on actual SanDisk endurance cards and that eliminated most of my SD card issues.

Thanks OP! This will replace my original battery powered Wyze cam with the original base station. Will be nice to get upgraded video along with getting rid of the base station, and the added possibility of getting the Solar Panel!

I am fascinated that this thread is filled with people that LIKE Wyze, and the $18 Wyze thread is filled with haters. There are certainly pro's and con's, but for the low price of the Wyze cams (and the $99/year camera sub) I am getting GREAT value from Wyze. (I have 24 cams) I also have the scale, big thumbs up. And just recently got the robot vac to replace a Roomba 980, and I am impressed!

I recently bought the Battery Cam Pro 2-pack through the Home Depot sale. Looks like there is no external port to connect a solar panel. Also bought some micro SD cards to be able to capture video. Fully charged battery is down to 94% without running video after 5 days, not sure how much run time without a solar panel. Image quality is good, but may return them to HD if solar is not an option.

Does anyone know if these can be setup without wifi? I see there's no QR code, easy Bluetooth but I wanna put these in places without wifi. I guess the alternative is to set them up with wifi and then move them?

I've had my cameras for nearly a month and really wanted to like them, but they don't seem to be performing as expected. I bought some 64gb micro sd cards to see if I could get some recording. The cards were easy to format, but have yet to get any video footage through the app on my phone. Could be user error, but thinking I need a subscription to get video footage. Also, I don't see a way to integrate a solar panel into the camera. They have a door on the bottom that needs to stay open to access the USB-C port that the solar would plug into, rendering these no waterproof with the battery door left open. Most likely returning this 2-pack to Home Depot.
