can any knife experts speak to this? I have some Shuns and some Globals (prefer the Shuns), but I mostly use my Victorinoxs tbh, they're pretty indestructible.

This is a... decent... set if you don't have a single knife, and specifically want these. My problem with it is simple: for $400, you could go buy an extremely good main knife (gyuto/chef/whatever) and have money leftover.

For example, that utility knife? Who is actually going to use that? You would use the paring and the chef's knife, and maybe the scissors but that depends on how good of a chef you are and if you're inclined to use scissors in the first place.

In my opinion as someone with thousands in high quality knives, just buy a really good main knife and go from there. Blocks are always going to include stuff you don't need.

I am pretty happy with my Shun Premier set. It has lifetime warranty and they would sharpen it for you once a year.
