I think the Anker C300 has a bit more capacity (288Wh vs. 245Wh), but they are very similar. The River 3 has been a fair bit cheaper than the C300 (~$159 vs. ~$249). The C300DC version is similar in price but doesn't have AC outlets. The C300 has 3 AC outlets, where the River 3 only has 2, but only 1 three prong outlet. With as small as the batteries are, I don't know that you will really be powering three devices at the same time, but it is a difference

I have 2 of the River 3 that I am using as a UPS. I paid $159 for them and they work flawlessly. I don't think that you could go wrong with either one. If you get the more expensive C300, it has a light that is pretty cool. I don't think a light is worth the extra ~$80, but that is a cool design feature.
This is getting out of hand. I bought this at launch for $199 and would assume it would be the lowest price, but every now and then, it drops more and more

It's starting to feel like anker / eufy products where they bait you in the beginning and start to discount more and more and screw the initial backers

I have this exact unit. The panel is pretty underpowered (I opted for a 100W panel from Amazon), I receive overload warnings when just turning on the AC outlets with nothing plugged in AND the cover for the power inputs doesn't close properly. FWIW, Ecoflow has offered a replacement but I'm waiting out hurricane season.

These are just my observations.

The River series is inconsistent junk, I'm sorry. And EcoFlow's responses show their true colors when trying to get support from them.

They use low quality components to be competitive in the lower size price points with Anker and Bluetti, but they've gone too far. The inverter is garbage and noisy as all hell making buzzing noises, the charger makes buzzing and popping noises while charging. I wouldn't even be surprised if the actual AC output is dirty as heck.

In summary, I don't trust any of the River series, and I know the return rate on these things is insanely high due to the large quantity of refurbs they always seem to have for sale. My guess is they just re-package them immediately and list as refurbs without truly fixing why they are being returned (ie crackling and popping circuitry and inverters).

I highly recommend to avoid if possible and go with a competitor product if you need something in this size range. It's a roll of the dice with River series, and I don't like to take chances on power stations

I thought the large refurb quantity stemmed from these units requiring wifi support. And one of the teardown video showed a soldered wifi chip install. Anyway don't people usually want privacy protection when they go off the grid retreats where you need things like backup power.

I think feature and spec wise Ecoflow is on the bleeding edge. I only wish I can trust they will never use their technology against me.

My river pro has been great. I'm not experiencing the buzzing noises or whatever. Also purchased mine at Costco. These do not fall under the electronic return policy or at least they didn't a couple years ago as I returned a different power station (beyond the 90 days) that didn't meet my needs and picked up the River Pro

I got my mom the river 2 max with about double the capacity with a 110 watt panel. Both refurbs for around 305$ total off eBay a few weeks ago. What's interesting about it, it says 500 watts 1000 surge, but it has the ability to power higher wattage devices at lower volts, keeping it around 500 watts. For instance it will charge a 600 watt electric kettle but run it at 500 watts. Where a similar bluetti device will trip the surge protector

Agreed, I always seem to do a double take at any river product at this point. I have a few but they seem cheap and overpriced compared to others.

Absolutely. Absolutely. I have decided never to buy new Ecoflow products at launch regardless the deal since they will always be lower. For upcoming BF, the deal would have be super sweet for me to consider since even then, the price will probably go down to $99 one day in 2025 which is good but I can wait.

In Ecoflow's defense that one came with a free backpack. This one does not.

lithium batteries have plummeted 40% in cost just this year. it's only gonna get cheaper. what did you expect? didn't they find the largest lithium deposit on the planet in Nevada or something recently?

early adopters have to pay the price. Unless they promised you price guarantee, There's no bait here, you chose not to wait.

unless you buy a power station every year, your ecocredits will expire on you eventually like mine did and you'll lose a boatload of points leaving you forever bitter at ecoflow (i.e. it's a poor system). it's nice for a second but they've lost me over that.
