I've used this headset since 2017 and it is still going strong. I bought the new version (The Nova Pro Wireless) but did not find it nearly as comfortable. I am only buying this again as I am sure mine will eventually give out, but I couldn't recommend this headset enough, especially at this price (I paid over $300 for mine and felt like I've gotten plenty of value out of it).

Thanks I am aware of that model. I just thought maybe there was a way to get this one to work, seems like you can but it wont work with Xbox chat unless you bluetooth pair it to your phone and do the chat thru that app on it.

Anyone using this on fps games and how good is it at distinguishing footsteps? Currently using Inzone H7 on PS5.

I have the Nova Pro and I switch between my PS5 and PC. I have a serious love hate relationship with the software. It's obnoxiously over complicated and frustrating to just have things plug and play. The PC software ends up populating three different devices to choose from via sound and mic, then in games like Fortnite, I have to go and fiddle with menu inputs to get my sound to switch correctly. Without the software, it seems to work "fine". Not sure I'd recommend a Steel Series with a DAC. But that's me.

I have mixed feelings about this headset. It's one of the highest reviewed higher end gaming headsets, and I can see why. Sound is great, easy to use, not too heavy, mic is good, and many more reasons. However, they are notorious for having a critical joint that holds the head strap to the ear pad being held together with some pretty weak plastic. When it breaks, the whole headset becomes useless. Had this happen to me after about 3 years, and had to replace the headset. If you search online a lot of people have had this issue for many years, yet they won't change the design of that part. Could still be a good buy at this price point though.

Based on research the past while i think more most people the nova 7 will be a better choice. Better comfort on the ears and better battery. This has the interchangeable battery, dac. Everything else is around the same. Comfort is probably more important than the other factors.

The software for the Nova 7 is horrible though, I still prefer the Arctis Pro without the software element to it. I have no issue with comfort or battery life - battery lasts almost a full day.
I will say though, the Micro USB port on it is really bad and breaks easily. If anyone does buy this, purchase a simple magnetic micro-usb cable and use that. The quick disconnect makes it easy to charge and less stress on the actual port itself so it should last a lot longer.

Battery change takes less then 10 seconds so you never have to charge the headset. For the ear pads just buy the replacement cushions from wicked cushion and you never have to take a break while gaming

Rtings review: http://www.rtings.com/headphones/...o-wireless

"The SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless are outstanding gaming headphones. They combine the connectivity options of the SteelSeries Arctis 7 Wireless 2017 and the SteelSeries Arctis Pro GameDAC by including a wireless transmitter that doubles as a battery charging station, and they even throw Bluetooth in there for good measure. This results in highly versatile wireless gaming headphones that can mix audio from a console and a mobile device at the same time. On the downside, there have been many user reports of their units' hinges breaking over a short amount of time [..]."

"Despite their high-end price, the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless have a mediocre build quality. They're nearly identical to the SteelSeries Arctis Pro GameDAC with a mostly plastic frame and a headband that's a mix of metal and silicone-like material. Unfortunately, there have been multiple user reports of the hinges of the headphones breaking over short and long periods. The plastic yoke area can crack and cause the hinge completely break off, which is very frustrating.

Unlike most other gaming headphones, the right ear cup houses a removable battery, and the headphones come with two swappable batteries. The microphone is flexible and can withstand being bent in different ways without breaking. It also smoothly retracts into the left ear cup when not in use."

It's good, it's the software on PC is where you get the extra setting. Their software is one of the best I've used over other brands. for consoles, im not too sure
