Hey same here. I believe that was an R6 series too. Been using mine almost daily and still going strong 5 years later. Surprisingly decent picture and sound too for the price. I somehow managed to get another $20 off but can't recall how. Honestly one of the best value purchases I've made. That being said I'm pretty afraid of them pushing an update thru the integrated Roku and bricking it.
I mean it's just luck of the draw, just like any tech even cars and family. My folks low budget samsung still goinv on for over 12 years while my expensive Sony tv lasted 6 years. I learn my lesson to not buy anything tv that expensive and rather take luck on a cheaper tv. $138 sounds better then $1k of the same size.

I had a Samsung QLED that I bought from Walmart in 2022. Died just after the 2nd year of warranty covered by my credit card. So it lived 2 years and 3 months. In other words I agree with you and lemons apply to the non-Chinese manufacturers as well

Bought a Hisense U7 series last year on sale not expecting much, that tv has blown every tv I've owned out of the water and a lot of family/friends tvs as well. The u8 is even better. I might pick this up as a set for the bedroom since I've had good experience with my current TV. I stopped shopping brand name after seeing a YouTube video RTings did comparing every single tv manufacturer /model and basically concluded that all TVs will eventually have some issue after a few years. The days of buying a TV to last 10+ years are long gone

Man…Walmart employees get luckier than us. They get 10% discount on most goods, including TV therefore it would be $124 before tax if they are looking at this.
Plus they get to work at Walmart. Win-win.

Hi.....
couple of questions , can I set this up to use my old VCR - DVD player ?

And will this work OK as a Computer monitor , not gaming just for playing YouTube videos and Web surfing ,

Right now I am just using a Lenovo laptop !
Thanks for your help

Yes, and probably. If you look at the manual, you can check to see if this TV has a composite input. If not, you can get an inexpensive composite to HDMI converter on Amazon. For the computer monitor part, as long as your laptop has an HDMI or Displayport output, yes (the latter will require an adapter). However, depending on how old the computer is, you may only be able to run 4k at 30hz.

Is this TV the same to get an idea of reviews:
https://www.amazon.com/Hisense-50...r=8-1&th=1]

Edit: I think its an older model . Walmarts model is likely specific to them

the OP forgot one extremely important detail about this deal - it is only available for people who have a Walmart+ paid subscription on November 11th at 12pm EST (noon) and that's because it's a W+ Early Access deal. everyone else who doesn't have a subscription will be able to buy it 5 hours later at 5:00 p.m. EST. and I'm sure by then it will be sold out.

"Walmart+ Early Access deals begin online Monday, Nov. 11 at 12 p.m. ET exclusively for paid Walmart+ members, 5 p.m. ET for all customers and starts in stores Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 a.m. local time."

My Hisense from Black Friday 2018 is still going strong, no issues. Wouldn't hesitate to get this if i needed yet another TV
Is interface still functional with reasonable response times, or are you using firestick/appletv

It's definitely not as fast as it was new (and after downloading a ton of apps). There can be a little lag sometimes but nothing that would be a deal breaker for me personally. I did end up having to get a new controller since it's been my daily driver and had to press the buttons really hard for it to register on the worn down controller. Shockingly I found a RokuTV remote on Temu that worked flawlessly out of the box and it was like $2.50 lol.

Is this like the vizios that require you to register an account give them all your info and credit card just to use the TV?

I have one from 2019 that has not done an update since I bought it , just kind of weird. I check every few months 🤪. I can't stand the apps on the TV so I just use Apple TV .it's working fine still.
