Just take note that it's not an inverter generator if you need that feature.

Got this model from a deal in 2022. When testing everything out there was an issue getting it started with the pull cord, but their customer service was one of the fastest I experienced. After I told them what was happening and what I did to troubleshoot, they had me send a quick video to a link and they shipped out a new pull cord assembly since I told them I was comfortable replacing it versus returning the whole thing and the new part took care of it.

Just like most things go, as soon as I owned a generator I haven't had a single power outage since.

If someone doesn't have access to nat gas then tri fuel is irrelevant...

Ive only had Inverter style generators for camping mostly. Looking at a whole house solution. If I used a non-inverter generator to power my house in an emergency, what issues will I have?

"wasted" fuel when running at lower demand and noise though the later can be mitigated in various ways

If you need a whole home generator you should get a tri-fuel. It's difficult and expensive looking for gas and/or propane during natural disasters

The idea is to have the fuel on hand BEFORE the disaster. If you're going to drop some coins on a big generator, keeping a fresh rotation of a couple hundred bucks worth of fuel shouldn't be an issue.

Natural gas service isn't gauranteed in an outage, either. Those places need electricity to pressure the gas lines, and sometimes the lines get shut off or knocked out in bad disasters.

If you're going to prep for an outage, then you shed actually prep.

It's not a great idea to run sensitive electronics on a non-inverter generator.

All kinds of problems. You do not need an inverter if the generator is large enough to put out consistent clean power, but my 10,000 watt generator does not do that, and it blows all the transformers, from the door bell to the air conditioner. It also ruins all of your surge protectors, and caused the microwave to act weird, the toaster seemed like it was going to catch fire, and the refrigerator would cycle off.

Copy. Ive reasearched quiet boxes and such. I'm considering getting a transfer box installed on my house. We live in Alaska so its almost an essential.

I got this one last year and have been very happy with it.. I live in hurricane alley and would store six 6 gallon (36 gallons total) fuel tanks in the shed every year. after hurricane season i would put the gas in my vehicles (pita).. last year with this purchase i went ahead and bought three one hundred pound hog propane tanks.. and its my understanding the tanks / propane does not deteriorate (not within 10 or 12 years). so no longer need to swap out the gas every year.

I think the 'tri fuel' are essensially more in direct competition to Generac type, being that propane and gasoline are usually more often 'smallish container dispensed' fuels i think

How does this compare to the recent Sam's club deal from the other day? In terms of quality and everything else?
