Be sure to check under the handles on these. Every one of these at my local Home Depot had rust.

For what it's worth I've owned US General Series 2, a husky 36" tool chest combo, as well as one of these, and would absolutely pay $300 for this one again. It's a great price point and build quality for normal home usage. I personally never see myself needing anything more expensive or well built. I had no rust / dents / damage / assembly problems on either of the Husky toolboxes I've had.

Also check that the wheels are level. It sucks to roll a toolbox and it wobbles .... Buy it in store and hand pick one if you can. This is a solid entry level tool box. Got one for my son-in-law and it's holding up nicely.

Really solid inexpensive tool chest. It is really thin metal (21 gauge), but it's small and boxy so plenty of bends to offset the thin metal. Price point is right.

If anyones bought this, how does it come when you pick it up? In boxes? Each piece separate? Anyone now how tall the biggest piece is? Trying to determine if it'll fit in my truck.

Have tacoma. It fit easy. I recall 2 boxes. Both fit.

Edit: I have a bed lid as well. It was too tall, and needed a rope to hold closed.

I bought two sets in the textured grey finish for $200 each set. The second set I got $50 off by adding an extra $100 to purchase along with HD credit card application. So extra $100 for red version? It looks the exact same!

I've had different qualities of tool boxes, but I'd at least go medium duty. Check the differences. If it's a first box or you need cheap, you can't really go wrong, but I want something that either has soft close or friction close drawers, because they also handle the weight better. I don't want to constantly worry about the drawers opening. My Hart drawer is better quality. You can always upgrade later and look at selling this one, which is what happened to my old one.

It comes fully assembled, and the top and bottom tool chests are separate. I fit them into my Hyundai Ioniq sedan (with the rear seats folded down, and both tool chests lying on their backs).

Is this a sale price or just a permanent lower price for this item?
