This is north of where I want to be cost-wise, but I have to say, I saw this monitor on demo at Best Buy, and this was the best looking PQ one on display there. It was eye candy. There was also a Samsung 49" ultrawide and I was super disappointed by the PQ.

It's fine for gaming, in fact it's great for gaming. For office stuff it definitely isn't the best call but if you're just doing casual wfh and web browsing it's totally fine.

I went from a 32" 4k OLED to the 39" version of this. I missed the ultrawide aspect and was willing to sacrifice PPI to do it. The 39" version is perfect for gaming and more than tolerable for general browsing. I can crank up my 4080 to near max settings including RTX on and maintain reasonably high FPS in the most recent games.

The 39" 21:9 ultrawide is about the same height as a 32" 16:9 but with the added horizontal real estate. I am very happy with my choice and something you should consider if you are thinking about the 45" version, which I personally don't recommend.

Refresh rate is great but I'd at least want 1600p at this size if not 2160p, I read a lot of text and like to sit closer than I should, I'd probably suggest a 34" 1440p monitor over this, but it really comes down to how you use it. I personally enjoy the 39" size over 34" especially for productivity, I haven't used a 45" uw but I imagine that's about as big as I'd want to go. I've had the Alienware/Dell AW3821DW for a few years and the only thing I've been considering since is a 5k2k screen, but there are only a few available and ~$2k, about twice my realistic budget.

I think many people are hoping for a higher resolution and refresh rate ~40" OLED to arrive, and after that I'm looking forward to QDEL screens.

The 1600p UWs I was considering: https://www.displayspecifications...4bae2d519e

I agree, I'm not a fan of the resolution/ppi but I saw this in store and man did it look great

I bought a samsung classic 6 watch open box (excellent condition) and looked brand new. Saved I think 20-30% vs. new.

Also I bought a Samsung Chromebook with oled screen (labeled as good condition), saved a few hundred, and didn't look used at all.

My experience has been very good for with open box personally with the bigger purchases I've made

yeah i have the 39", got it so it was the same size as a 32" since i already have a 32" 1440 that i will upgrade to a 32" 4k OLED at some point, and didnt want such difference in screen size. and this lines up perfectly with my current monitor
