This is pretty nice if there's something you've been holding out for. Most of the REI branded stuff is pretty nice. Especially packs, tents, and jackets. 30% off is about the best you'll get for some items.

On the other hand, considering a) this only applies to full price REI branded items and b) many REI branded items regularly go for 30-40% off during sales (and sometimes less on clearance), I don't consider it to be especially slick.
