If this were the M3, I'd consider it at this price. Upgrading from a 2020 MBA M1. I'd appreciate the upgrade chassis and RAM, but the M2 is already two generations behind.

Yep that's my thinking as well. It will be my first Macbook and I'd like to keep it for around 3 years. Ideally I'd like a killer deal on a Macbook Pro M3 or M4 with 16/512, the remainder of Nov/Dec will be interesting.
