I agree, the Kreg is a much nicer machine. The "plastic" parts are fiberglass reinforced nylon, the same stuff that high quality drills are made from and nobody complains about those. And if you're doing something that makes you concerned about breaking your pocket hole jig, then you are using it wrong.

I wonder if you've seen the Massca M2 Pro? I know Kreg is the gold standard for pocket holes but had the 720 and really did not like all the plastic, M2 is all metal and does all the same stuff. Currently only $5 more on Amazon and same rating as the 720. Also, black Friday is only a few weeks away.

Does all the same stuff? The ergonomics are obviously different. The major differences I see are the Massca m2 pro looks more like an all-metal K4 with extensions than a 720 pro. The clamp is away from you meaning plywood can be a pain. The M2 clamp also is manually adjusted vs automatic adjustment on the 720 pro

Best widely available deal on the 720 pro I've seen. Jump on this if you're thinking about it at all and you have a semi-permanent bench space for it.

I have the 520 since I don't have a permanent work bench and it's a great tool—I can put in a dozen pocket holes in repeat parts in just a few minutes because of the auto-adjusting trigger. The only downside to it is that it's too large to get into small spaces, but that's what the smaller R3 is for.

Agree with your ponts! Never had an issue with adjustment, as it's quite easy, but I also don't do a large variety of thicknesses in the same project. The block can be taken out of the Massca to use as a mobile jig, so there's not really an issue working with large pieces of material, actually think that's a plus. The Kreg always seemed to leave behind shavings while working even with dust collection going, never had that problem with the Massca. It really seemed like something I'd only want to buy once and the build quality didn't seem like it was there with the Kreg.

Just wanted to add, I've got plenty of blue plastic tools in my shop and I've never broken any of them. Love Kreg tools, just didn't love this one.

This thing is great! Been using it for over 2 years now. If you want something made out of metal, I'd look into chinese pocket hole jigs on aliexpress or bang good.

I agree. I have just about every Kreg jig and none have failed on me. No breaks tears barely any scratches

Just my opinion but i doesn't really seem like a huge upgrade over the K4? The side wings don't seem that useful & even appear quite loose from vids online.
Auto clamp would def be advantageous if you're constantly swapping between material thicknesses, but its not like it takes more than 15 seconds to adjust tension and height? In both cases you still have to adjust the collar on the bit.

Anyway, i'm glad i watched a video to see that the 'pro' in the 720 didn't really translate to much. I'd guess stepping to a kreg foreman would be the real upgrade for production folks, of course cost reflects that. The 'pro' in the name just misled me a bit here.

What a POS. Get the enjoywood brand one. Way better. Kreg is in love with their blue plastic.
