HDR400 is just some marketing BS for "we have HDR at home"

HDR600 is passable but true HDR has always been 1000

Most HDR content is mastered for 1000 nits. For true HDR you want a 1000 nits capable monitor.

Probably not the best choice if you don't game. You are paying a premium for the higher/variable refresh rates. It is also a VA panel. IPS is better for office tasks.

The HDR is like 350 nits.. so don't buy it thinking you are getting real HDR.

What make you so confident that it doesn't have real HDR? And isn't 350 nits average these days?

All in all this is a BF gaming monitor. 1440p 120hz are awesome for $200

What level of video card drives this near its refresh rate? I'm on a 3070 an am playing apex but I'm keeping my eyes open for a new game, so the next game might be more intensive.

I'm sure the monitor is fine, but HDR contents aren't really ideal on 350 nits.

Then what do you suggest otherwise?

Probably something with HDR600 certification or higher. Local dimming would be nice depending on your budget.

I've had 2 G5 monitors, 27" and 32", both of them lasted no more than 2 years when their screen got cracked or lcd liquid spilled out of nothing. It's been reported in many forums.

So one screen magically cracked itself? And LCD liquid spilled out of the other?

(says while slowing backing away....)

I believe I've seen this as well it has something to do with the frame and the curvature against the LCD panel creates pressure points and cracks because of manufacturing defects and the plastic curing over the years.

That does make sense, especially with such an aggressive curb of 1000R. Now hopefully Samsung would have figured that out over the last few years / generations. These monitors are highly regarded, it that was a concern these days I think we would have heard slightly more about the issue.

My guess though is dude is just really rough with his stuff...especially conconcering the fluid leaking out. Too many beverages knocked over during late night gaming sessions...not saying I haven't been there myself. Battlefield 2 can change a man.

I dont know much about monitors and I dont play games on them. I am just looking for one that will put less strain on my eyes. Is this one good for that?
