Is this a good deal?
Wife is looking for something to get away from her IPad and laptop.
I've been looking at these or a surface pro.
She's in school, but would not use video editing, maybe drawing a graph and watch Netflix.

No. 150U is pretty bad. Basically 12th Gen technology from 2021. You want Lunar lake (155H) or meteor lake, or Ryzen 8840/7845 .

The Yoga 7i 2 in 1, Ultra 5 125U was on deal a few days back on bestbuy for $500. That is a much better deal, hope it comes back.

I bought this laptop and the $899 Costco sale HP 15.6" 2 IN 1 for my daughter for Christmas. She's off to college to study chemistry and needed something mostly to take notes by hand and write out chemical diagrams. The CPU is new as of 2024 https://www.techpowerup.com/cpu-s...BGA%201744. The HP CPU is marginally faster, and the laptop has 16GB more of memory, but it's 15.6" 1080p vs 16" WUXGA. They're both nice computers, but my daughter chose the Lenovo plus the Costco Allstate Warranty. I think she made the right decision. CPU Comparison https://versus.com/en/intel-core-...tra-7-155u

A few things. First, it is a raptor lake processor. It is unchanged from Intel's 13th gen which is also raptor lake, but it is given a new name in the 14th Gen family because that's how they do business in the chip industry. 13th itself is a very minor change from 12th gen alder lake. The CPU and iGPU efficiency is the same. Second, peak performance is not always what is the most important. Efficiency affects battery life, and a lot of times it is more important to have 2 more hours of battery life with acceptable performance. Third, both 15 and 16 inch laptops are quite bulky for carrying around.
