I subscribed to this a couple weeks ago, when they were offering $50 for the membership with a free $20 bag of candy.

We tried the same day delivery and I didn't realize that they used Shipt. It's like other side gig service in that they don't pay the drivers a decent wage/travel costs -- and instead ask you to pay a large tip in order to compensate. While my time is valuable, I was basically adding 20% or more per delivery in a tip, which is going to make the overall cost of the membership for more than $50 over a year. I think I would only use it for emergency circumstances now. Otherwise I'll just use the free Circle drive up.

If you have verified with Target as active military or a veteran, this stacks with another Target offer for $50 back in rewards on an annual membership.

So a $50 membership purchase nets you a $50 off $50 coupon and $50 in rewards. Even better, the storewide 10% off coupons for military are still valid through tomorrow and can be combined with both the coupon and rewards.

For anyone wondering the $50 reward is valid for one year and the $50 coupon is valid 11/10-12/7.

Confused - I see how I can join for $49 but not a coupon for $50 off. Would that appear after I joined or perhaps not?

If I didn't need this before I probably don't need it now. But good for those that can't / dont want to go to store or do a pickup order. I remember when going to target was enjoyable but now they have everything from socks to deodorant behind glass and it's just depressing. Guess they would rather just become a delivery hub.
I have never seen what you are describing and there are three Targets not very far from where I live in Richmond, VA.

The point is if they're paying for a subscription that advertises free delivery - then it should be free. Also, I do believe a good majority of people are tired of being forced to tip while big corporations are seeing record highs in profits and not paying the workers fair livable working wages. Basically - we want delivery persons and servers to have a fair livable wage paid for by their employer, not the people utilizing their employers services (the customer).
Totally agree, this Tipping culture has no limit and if you factor in the Annual subscription fee along with the Tips the cost of the products goes beyond affordable to average people.
If we're not tipping USPS, UPS, FedEx, Amazon delivery people, then there's no need to tip other delivery folks only if these corporations do their part and pay their delivery folks.

I was too, but if you use a target gc, you don't get the additional discount for being a red card holder (5%)…I guess the gc deal is still 5% better but was disappointed that if I apply a gc to the purchase, it's takes off the red card discount. Hopefully, that makes sense…I just wasn't aware that would happen.
But you buy the gift cards w a 5% card. So you don't really "lose" the red card discount.
So it's actually like 14% off.
$500 gc for…
$450
- $22.50 ($450x5%)
———-
$427.50 actually paid

$72.50/$500=14.5% off total.

No where during the sign up phase for this product was it mentioned that as part of the "free delivery", was it expected/suggested that you tip your delivery person. That should be mentioned during the sign up phase, IMO. Personally, the expectation that you'll be tipping for every delivery negates any benefit that the deal has for me.
If Target is making money from memberships from this service, then they should use that money to pay their employees wages that do not need to be supplemented by customer tips.
Amazon Prime charges for their service annually, but there are no tips required for Amazon deliveries.
Alas, I signed up for this service before realizing that I would be expected to tip for every delivery. I called Target customer service to complain about this fact and told them that I wanted to cancel my service (I had not used it since signing up). It took a while, but they were able to cancel the service on my account and refund the $49 that I paid back to me.

Thanks! Got the military discount $50 and the membership and then bought diapers (adding another $15 gift card) for my daughter who is due in January! Great deal!
I have a military verified account, but never saw a $50 military discount? Can you share more details? I received two 10% off shopping trips though.

I'm not tipping if I have to already pay a fee. Silly shit. I miss Krogers' delivery as that wasn't expected.
