game is absolute garbage... i have been playing NHL since 2014 religiously and always on top of the leader boards in each and every game that comes out and this is by far the worst game EA has ever put out... Wish i could get my money back to be honest.

No. Can do a 10 hour trial but this game won't hit gamepass until late April.

As a 100% offline franchise player, I really liked the 10 hour trial i played at launch. Of course knowing ea they have probably screwed what I liked up since then. Lol

So I had a lot of issues with this game at first but they have fixed a ton of stuff in recent patches. It still may not be for everybody, but I do like the changes they've implemented. I was frustrated with how slow the game felt, but I see what they were going for. The gameplay allows for much more Puck control in the offensive zone. The AI is definitely better for the most part. The graphics are phenomenal! I can't stress enough how much better this game looks the more I play it. I went back and played NHL 24 just to see and it does make a huge difference. There are still some annoyances from previous years though. The sticky menus and the online modes are still there. Doesn't seem like it's fully optimized for current gen yet. There is no Xbox One / PS4 version but some of the loading times and stuff like that make it feel like there is. It's just that they haven't optimized everything for the current gen systems just yet that's unfortunate because what's here is actually pretty good. It just doesn't feel that much different from the last few years. But having played this so much and going and trying previous years, you really see the difference and feel the difference. The more you play the more things you will notice and appreciate. There are a lot of little touches here and there that have been updated that you may not notice right at first. Also try different camera angles. They did some cool things to the cameras this year to add more visibility to the ice. Obviously if you wait it'll be on Game pass or in the EA vault towards the end of the season. But 35 bucks isn't bad.

Own every NHL since 2007 (both EA and 2K), and I completely agree... This is probably the worst hockey game ever made.

It's actually amazing how they've gone out of their way to make every single game mode worse, especially HUT and EASHL.

Actually id take better game play over graphics any day... EA is as lazy as it gets.. why do they never change the cpu names... always Jimmy cap and amar gill and all the others year after year.. why is it always icebreakers and nighthawk in chel.... can't they change the names or add some... they didn't even change what the announcers say.. pure laziness... its just another subpar game with unreal game play... tell me how I can totally destroy someone but yet they get up faster then I can stop and they get the puck.... another thing is the hip checks. How many times in an nhl season do you see hipchecks.. maybe a dozen total... how can someone standing still in a hip check position totally destroy another player who's barely moving.... game is more unrealistic then ever

I havent seen that hip check as much this year. Ive had some pretty epic games going. Gameplay is the best its been in a long time, if you like realism. If you prefer arcadey gameplay then maybe not so much. It really depends on what skills you choose to foicus on that determines how your character plays. Feels like the stats matter more this year. If you have low stamina for example, your player is gassed much faster and loses energy more when being hjit, etc. Obviously its not perfect, but it feels a lot less "sludgy" than years past and feels like you have to actually strategize. Not just use chhese moves that are a automatic goal everytime! Goalies do some crazy stuff too, much like real life. If you enjoy the ins and outs of realistic hockey youll likely enjoy this years game.

skills lol.... players who use total control need no skill.. its easier to do a michigan then it is to hit someone ... make that make sense... EA turned it into an arcade game when they added total control to the game... now anyone can do a previous SKILL move with the tap of a button
