Definitely doesn't sound like a Walmart, Goodyear, or Kumho problem. Sounds like you just need to go buy yourself some new rims or a new car. There's No way 2 different sets of tires, from two different manufacturers are leaking the same way. If they're aluminum alloy wheels that have some type of clearcoat, sometimes the clear breaks down where the tire bead seats and can cause very slow leaks, cast aluminum wheels can also just become porous over time. If they're Steel wheels, they could be rusting through. You could also have leaking valve stems/tpms. And then you also have the obvious psi drop when the weather gets colder. My suggestion is to pull off the rim and tire that loses pressure the quickest, fill up your bathtub and submerge the rim and tire under the water to see where the air bubbles are coming from. I can just about guarantee the leaks aren't the tires fault unless you've run over some type of foreign object.
This is around how these tires are always priced. Some may be very slightly below typical but the list prices on the ones showing a 50%+ strikethrough discount are a joke. I've had 215/50R17 in my cart for nearly a month and the price hasn't changed.

That being said, based on my research when looking for a new set of tires for my old beater these seem like a good budget tire, especially if you live somewhere it doesn't snow.

No Kumho for Tesla Y, 255/19r.

Is Lexani any good?
Rule of thumb: if you haven't heard of the tire company, it's probably not very good.

Why would you spend $40k on your Tesla and the cheap out on what keeps it connected to the road?

Walmart has excellent prices on tires shipped to your house. I usually have discount tire install those tires because they back up their installation. Walmart is a joke and usually a pain to deal with. Put in your tire size in the Walmart search bar, you'll be surprised some of the deals you can get on their tires. Read the reviews because not all Chinese made tires are garbage. You will pay a premium for Japanese and US made, and I've had some Cooper tires that didn't hold up as well as some India made tires.

These are the going rate for these tires, I randomly ordered 4 of them in August for cheaper in the 205/65 r15 variety, but for my winter beater they will be fine 🤣

I am wondering too.. these Walmart only models don't get the same reviews like mass market models for one to compare.

2018 Prius Prime with OEM Dunlop Enasave 01 A/S. The OEM eco focused tired are light but seem to be made of paper... with lots of horror story of flats.

Both Kumho and Goodyear are ~3lbs heavier (19lb vs 16) than OEM but these are 91V & 91H vs OEM 89S, UTQG of 500AA & 600AA vs 540AB.
Its situational. Sometimes Walmart strikes a deal with a tire manufacturer to sell previous versions of a tire that that manufacturer no longer has in their main lineup. For example, Walmart sells Cooper Discover All Terrains that are the previous version of the Cooper Discover AT/3, before Cooper switched to the 4S, LT and XLT models. It's an excellent, well reviewed budget AT tire.

My guess is that these Kumho LX Platinum KU27's are the same as the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum's. Check out Tire Rack reviews: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/ku...-platinum?

Why do people use a $5 case on a $1200 iPhone???

....ok bad comparison, but just to save money. What tires do people use then?

I would look for well-reviewed tires from Goodyear, cooper, Michelin, Toyo, sumitomo, kumho, general, or other brands that have a track record, then try to find a deal on the tires that fit my needs.

Excellent price, most of us have beater car or cars that we dont care much when it comes to cheap tires, as long as it's not Lionhart or Waterfall or some other Chinese made junks it's okay. I love getting a set for $380 installed, I recommend Crossmax too, made in Thailand.

I'm a big proponent of spending extra for the best tires you can buy, but I am considering these Kumho's for my 87 year old mother who drives 25 mph to the local supermarket and back a few times a week. Everyone's situation is different. Many people would like a better tire but simply can't affort it.

With that being said, these Walmart Kumho's are essentially the discontinued Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum's, which are pretty decent tires.

TireRack rating: Wet traction = 8.1 (Good)
Dry traction = 8.6 (Excellent)
Winter/Snow = 6.2 (Fair)

No one is mentioning this
The Kumho (escta) LX platinum only have 50k warranty and are a Walmart exclusive.

The Kumho Solus line have a 60 -75k mile warranty

I'm considering a different model, the uhp 207, for my car. They seem to have good ratings on websites and on YouTube.

Well that's unfortunate then. Installing tires isn't rocket science, I wonder which step of the 5 step (6 if you get new valve stems) tire change process your inept Walmart Tire guys are messing up then? I've actually never had Wal Mart mount and balance a tire before, but I have had about 8 different shops install about 60 sets of tires over my lifetime and the only installer issues I've ever had have been them screwing up a directional tire in the wrong direction, and scuffing my rims a couple of times. The leaks I've had have all been rim issues, valve stem leaks or road hazards. My daughter's 2007 jeep compass wheel was slowly leaking around the bead due to the rim coating deteriorating. I had to take the rim and tire back up, have them dismount it, take it home, wire wheel the bead seal, prime it, clear it and take it back up to get remounted. Never had another issue. My other daughter had a 2010 escape that had a similar issue with two of her 4 rims, she sold it before I had a chance to investigate or fix it.

I can almost guarantee most chain tire shops are doing the bare minimum for a dismount/mount and balance. Meaning, I doubt they're carefully looking at the condition of the rim before they put the new tires on. I learned early on a lot of times they won't even scrape off mud, asphalt chunks or even old wheel weights before they re-balance them. I wish you luck finding a good tire shop, that you can trust.
For sure. I bet half the people at a Walmart tire shop dont really care one way or the other. That's the problem.
