What is the difference between the A7 and AX7? I don't see anything glaring?

Not sure what the issue is? I bought Minisforum direct and multiple base mini pc nas boards off of Ali and never had an issue. My CC has 90 day BP just in case. Is there some specific issue w/ this company? Personally I'd rather give the money to the company directly than Amazon screwing over their suppliers this year (fba).

Temping, but I think the Beelink SER8 is a better deal for around $450. I can use the extra saving to upgrade to 2TB.

What does your buyers protection cover? What if you have a issue when you first receive your pc and the company tells you that you are covered and to send it in?

Specifically 90 days if you are unsatisfied with the purchase and cannot resolve it with the seller then they will reimburse you. I have used my CC protection 2x in the last year. First was an ebay seller who tried to scam me and paypal would not resolve (BP) and the second was a line in my macbook pro which at first seemed simple but hey its apple it was $1100 to fix the screen (more than the value of the macbook) when it was 13 months old it 2x the warranty.

This would not be a warranty claim like you said, Geekom says there is 3 year warranty so it would be with them. If you get a bad one I would just return for a refund and if they give you a hard time go the chargeback route.

You are still gonna be waiting awhile to get your m9ney back and have no pc. If you order from Amazon you will get another one sent out much much faster. I've owned a bunch of mini pc and frequent the mini pc reddit pages and it's pretty much the thought process from the community that it's always far better getting from Amazon. But if you don't mind making it harder for yourself to make a stand feel free

I am not making a stand, just saying that Amazon is not the only bazaar in the world and that I would rather give the money to the company than them if all things being equal.

I can certainly understand your dilemma and position, not calling you a bad person. I have ordered multiple mini pc D2C and not had any issues. I do recall Ace Magician being a shady vendor, so I would probably stay away from them, but I can't condemn the entire market.

Amazon has been adding friction into the return process in the last year, and I just watched a video where they are going to introduce a new more stringent return process.

Like I said in was just giving you the heads up on the communities thoughts. Again if you don't mind waiting over a month to possibly get a bad unit and then waiting a few months for your return then go for it. Amazon process is far better than the brands sites and they don't even really try to make it a pleasant experience. If they matched Amazon's process I might be more willing to use the brands sites. For me I appreciate customer experience and I have never had a issue with returns or replacements from Amazon. But 90% of the stories from the brand sites are bad. To each their own

Minisforum 790pro has the same specs and is $45 cheaper, which I bought a couple weeks ago. Except the 32GB is currently sold out. The 64GB version is $50 more than this.

Also, in my experience, if you email support and ask for a coupon they will usually give you a $20 off coupon..

No tax. And mine came in about a week from ordering.

What is your experience with Minisforum?
I bought a "renewed" NAD9 from Amazon with 90 day warranty and I was very happy with it. It died 2.5 months later and I returned it to Amazon. I think I was very lucky that the problem showed up within the warranty period. However the warranty with Minisforum is not very clear to me. They have a 2 year warranty but where do you sent it for warranty service? China? I asked them on Amazon but they only referred me to warranty page on their web site which doesn't say where to ship to.
