If you dont remember original moviepass let me shed some light.
It was the original idea of pay a monthly fee and see a few movies a months for free any kinda movie in most places.
At first it worked great, then scammy behavior started increasing. Movies could not be selected for no reason. Cancellation left and right. App not launching or not loading movies you could select. Movie selection reducing to movies noone wants to watch in theaters noone goes to.
It lead to them being forced to refund the membership fee and many got their annual membership refund. It went bankrupt. Some news about the CEO too who failed big and then tried to relaunch it and failed again.
Just get AMC Astar or the Regal alternative. You pay a reasonable fee and you always have a great experience and know where you credit card info lives.

**FYI - You can go into your payment settings on the app and remove the payment method you used to set it up, after the account is created.
