I saw that too. Outlaw makes great products, I wish I could support them more but everything still works great from my purchases from outlaw 15 years ago.
i have owned several of their amps over the years and enjoyed them. very good value for the money. shame more people are not aware of this brand.
So take product price + shipping = end price.
product price + shipping + "$0 shipping" = same end price

Is end price a good deal?

I mean "free shipping" = product price + shipping too, so I guess if you have a mental block on that then buy all means go get the product with free shipping.

Just pick the least expensive, like kalexan9 pointed out, you would be hard pressed to tell any real difference.
The monoprice is the cheapest but has less watts per channel, and I'm running what could be considered 4 to 6 ohm speakers. I also remember seeing a review where a professional critic pointed out something wrong with the seven channel MonoPrice. Not sure if they updated it. I have that review link somewhere.

For 4 atmos speakers and 2 surround back speakers, is Denon 3800h enough? Will an amplifier like this make a noticeable difference?

I have a similar setup.

Side and Rear surrounds plus 4 Atmos speakers are driven by my RZ50.

I have a dedicated amp for my LCRs

X3800 should perform similarly

This company rocked 15 years ago, before the dark times (becoming married with children). I assume it still does.

I've been using both of these alongside my Denon x3700 for a few years now have they kick ass. And after blasting a 2hr movie at very loud volumes they are hardly even warm too the touch. Highly recommend.

Side note: my original 5000x unit was a refurb and the remote turn on didn't work. Outlaw sent me a brand new one no questions asked. Though shipping the old one back was a fun time simply due to the weight and size lol. They covered the costs of course, just getting the box in and out of my car was a challenge.

This. I think class D are the way to go now, they dominate the audioholics reviews and punch way above their weight, while being more efficient than their a/b competitors.

I just had the same internal debate between Outlaw, OSD, and Emotiva. I went with the OSD Nero HTA5200 for 599 with their online coupon. Looks to me the internals of both the Outlaw and OSD are made in the same place. Powering my front R, L, and center and two side surrounds and letting my AVR (Denon x5200) handle the rears and 4 Atmos.

Having done a practical shootout with these.
Imo unless you're driving very inefficient speakers at much higher levels than normal, good luck telling the difference.

The difference was minimal at best and we were all over the place on trying to pick a winner.
TBH they are all good at this level imo.

Imo just go with the least expensive, more specific, just for the speakers that actually need it.
Personally I would leave Monoprice out because of their not so good CS.

Depends on many factors, two obvious ones, how efficient are your speakers and how loud do listen.

Having compared the 3800 to others.
Using an external amp, it was comparable to higher priced AVRs.

There was hardly any difference, if any between it and the 4800 including just external power to the LCRs.
All 9 of my speakers are full range/reference.

It helps that the 3800 lets you turn off the internal amps individually.

I have vintage amps from the late 90s which none have probably ever heard of but they have been sounding fine to me. When I compared them back then, they were on the level of Acurus, Rotel, or Adcom. They're rated at about 150 wpc.

How would they compare to these modern "budget" amps like Outlaw, Emotiva Basx, OSD, or Monoprice amps?

Just wondering if it's worth it to upgrade? This is to power the front 3 speakers on a Denon x4400h.

Seems like the more prudent question would be.
If they're working fine, what would these be upgrading?

That's one benefit of external amps, you pay for better power(vs internal) once and they don't become obsolete.

Where is it manufactured?
Doesn't matter. They are all designed and made by ATI which have a solid standing in the Amplifier industry. Monolith and other Amps are made by ATI as well.
