This is as "real leather" as particleboard is "real wood". Were the materials once cow skin aka leather, yes. Just like particle board was once part of a tree. aka wood Sadly people don't realize that "Genuine leather" is actually the WORST type of leather, and just a glued-together mishmash of leather scraps. "Full Grain" or at least "Top Grain" is what people are tricked to expect when they hear "genuine leather" instead of scraps, just like people expect solid wood timbers, when they hear "wood furniture" but then they get particleboard (which is "made of wood"). The belt will serve you as well as a $7 belt should...

I have bought a lot of the knockoffs and none of them come close to the quality that I have from the original Slidebelts. I have shattered belt buckles, stripped the plastic in the teeth, had the cheapo leather snap out of the buckle latch constantly, any number of issues. The only issue I've had with the Slidebelts brand is that they tend to settle into an arch shape if you wear them tight and stretch the leather.
I'm not a fanboy or anything, just reporting my experience of the knockoffs. You get what you pay for, but recently I've switched over to trying the Groove Life belts for when I can get away with a more casual look. I like having adjustable belts because I tend to float between 36 and 38" waist and just buy the larger of the two for pants.

This is real leather but it's hard to tell. Sturdy enough to wear every day in the office. I've bought several of these from this and other amazon sellers and out of the 6 that I own, one of the ratcheting mechanisms broke. Bent the metal back in place but it still releases on its own. These are so low in price, that I threw away the buckle. If you get the buckle in a flat back, it will scratch up if you're rough on it and ride a bull for a living. The scratched up buckle looks cool though Lol

How are these so cheap?!

The mainstream good quality racket belts go for about 60 each?

I have 2 of them from two diff companies. Mission and one more, forget the other name...

Should i pull the trigger? hmmmmm
