So lets say you walked into the bose store because you needed to buy a pair of headphones and you pass by a pair thats in the box and labeled refurbished on sale for $39 and you say hell with it, I will take a chance and buy these because it seemed like a reasonable deal to you considering a brand new pair was $200. You go to the cash register and you pay for them you get in your car go home and you start using them for a couple days. Then three days later someone at the store realizes the wrong price was on them. Do you think they will come to your house and ask for them back and tell you that they made a mistake? This is what's happening right now. And they need to own up to it. Price mistakes happen in stores all the time and people buy stuff at a drastically discounted rate. No one goes knocking door-to-door asking for the product back. Online retailers should be held accountable. The mistake equals their problem. It shouldn't be the consumers problem. If you as an individual listed something for sale on eBay and you made a mistake on the listing price and sold that item too cheap the buyer would chastise you and eBay would probably kick you off the platform for not shipping out the item or honoring the sales price.
The fact that Bose did not address the issue and offer some sort of compensation to its customers says a lot about the company. This might've been a marketing gimmick right before the holidays. I personally always fight for the little guy. I don't feel bad for the big companies.

Nah I despise the "flippers" who are always ready to leech on this site. This one will probably get called back since it's almost certainly a price mistake (Probably meant $139 and $169). But they've ruined many great legit deals in the past when someone orders 5-10 of an item and quickly depletes the stock.

Getting 2-3 of these to give as gifts is cool. Buying 5 to try to flip is the very definition of rent-seeking. They contribute nothing to society.

On the positive side, the refurb QC Ultra deal ($210) is still very good for what is likely a "legit" price. IMO it's my favorite ANC headphone set currently

I think leaving bad reviews is the only thing we can do at this point. Unless someone knows something that ebay can do

I'm surprised at the amount of salty and disgruntled people about their orders being cancelled. It's always a risk when a price mistake is made. Especially if flippers get wind of it, which is definitely what tips the seller off.

I ordered knowing that the risk of it either being cancelled or called back was really high. It's unfortunate but it's just how things are. So many deals have been pulled back by the seller before.

It's a mistake on the part of the seller and they should at least provide a discount code in the future or something for those people who had their orders cancelled, but you can see why they wouldn't give an item away for 10-20% of its list price

I'm a bit upset for the cancellation. I'm trying to respond back with a meaningful message, but looking at their terms and conditions on Bose.com I found this.

"We attempt to be as accurate as possible and to eliminate errors on our Website; however, we do not represent or warrant that the descriptions, pricing, or other Product- or Service-related information is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free. In the event of an error, we reserve the right to correct such error and revise your order accordingly (which includes charging the correct price) or to cancel the order and refund any amount charged."

Granted the purchase was on another platform, but still. I don't think much can be done. It was a nice ride, congrats to those who got a pair! Onto the next sale. 👋

No... I mean people in here thinking that there was actually a high probability that a price mistake would be honored.

Numerous price mistakes have been clawed by back the sellers in the history of Slickdeals. Only some have actually been shipped.

Ebay's Terms do not enforce delivery of the item at all costs. The seller can not deliver and give you a refund. If it's possible, you're welcome to leave negative feedback but that's about all you can do. Yes it sucks and Bose should at least offer some discount codes on the actual price of the item.

It sucks for people thinking they got a great deal but everyone knows the risks. Especially once flippers get word and start ordering 10-20 at a time, which notifies the seller that something is wrong.

Except Ebay also is supposed to punish you harshly for doing so. Enough orders like that and you are suspended. Well at least for us little guys.

This thread was only up like 30 minutes before the listings when OOS and the deal died. From my experience that's a sign of them having safety guards in place and it wasn't all that many units they'd have to redeem at the discounted price. A big company like Bose this is nothing and basically some decent PR or whatever. Them not taking the loss is just kind of pathetic in this particular situation.

I'm fine w/ a cancellation--what irks me is that my paid purchase was literally on its way to me when it was labelled "undeliverable" as if it's my address's fault. Now I'm still in the midst of this transaction as UPS states, "The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible. We've received a request from the sender to return the package," along w/ eBay's "Awaiting shipment".
Again, I'm jealous of those whose transactions have simply been cancelled as they'll receive a quick refund while I have to wait for Bose to get around to it.

My order is still in paid status. No cancellation email so far. I ordered white smoke for $39.

"Did everyone who received a cancellation email received an order confirmation email from eBay yesterday?"
