The 220nis TN panel is a major issue.

Amex offers had a $50 off $250 so this is a lot of value.

I saw Fedora 40 KDE and I figured I'd install it and check it out.
Fedora 41 KDE runs like a champ on it and I've been using it for the past month as a daily driver as my Alienware X15 R2 just sits there waiting for its turn to get Fedora installed on it. There's no fiddling with anything in the BIOS or anything else to get everything working with Fedora. Just download Fedora, use Fedora Writer to create USB install and install it after reclaiming the file space.
8GB RAM and 256GB NVMe is plenty to run Fedora. Last I checked it was using 3.5GB RAM to run. Compared to my Alienware using 12GB just after boot.
If you spend a lot of time in the browser, this is far better than any Chromebook I've been on and I have an Asus high end chromebook, which I don't care for.
The screen is fine, it's not the best or the brightest, but it works well. They keyboard is surprisingly good compared to the Macbook and XPS I have. They're plastic keys, but they work well and have good travel.
The speakers sound decent, but there's not much volume.
The touchpad is offset to the left, which is awkward, but centered for the keyboard away from the number pad. It had an issue with extra movement and I noticed there's two sprung tabs that apply pressure underneath the trackpad. I flexed them up a bit and it solved the extra movement in the trackpad. It's a good trackpad, not great.
For comparison, I have:
2022 Alienware X15 R2
2018 Dell XPS 9570
2015 Asus UX501
Asus chromebook cx5601

This $299 Lenovo is actually a very good deal if not equipped with a dim 220nits TN display (dim and poor viewing angles)
But so can cheaper options.
