I got one of these from the last deal on here. This thing is on another level and I use it for landscaping as well. It's also quite sharp. I punctured my hand pretty bad and still have a gnarly scar. 10/10 would stab again

Used to love this but a nisaku triangle hoe is better for weeding and my stupid Martha Stewart branded viet fake light smaller hori hori with forked tip is better for every other task. So my japanese hori hori sits unuse pretty sure we've seen these as low as like 9 or 10 buck s

Made in Japan. Good reviews on Amazon. Like that one edge is serrated in case you have a really tough set of roots you need your soil knife to get thru.

The type of knife Arnie would use to kill the predator, testosterone shooting through the roof! Must. Clasp. Arms. With Carl Weathers.

It's a beast. Got one to pull ramps and I can angle it so I leave the roots and still get the bulb

I got one of these for $15 just recently.. still need to use it (to plant bulbs), but fit/finish is pretty nice for a $15 tool - probably a 'buy it for life' tool in the hands of your average homeowner. Good polish on the steel, 'stamped' markings that won't rub away, good precise grind on the edge profiles. Made in Japan is a big plus too.

Wonderful piece of steel, the blade is thick and holds an edge even when used in rocky soil. I purchased at $10 on previous sale and liked it so much I bought several more to give as gift.

But... It is shorter and not stainless steel. Reviews are lower as well.

I bought one of these a couple years ago for gardening, and it works great! I'd highly recommend them to even the casual gardener. And they would make a great gift for the gardener who seems to have everything.... except one of these.

I like them so much, I bought a couple for my brother, who is a bit of a rock hound.

A little bit of care and maintenance (basically keep it clean when done) and it definitely should last a lifetime, assuming your not using it to break up concrete.
