Malware in this one?
Sure. Reinstall Windows 11 Pro, and it will be activated automatically. If not, contact them for the code.
Anyway, it's a decent deal if you need one.

Coupon takes $35 off the Minisforum UM680/UM760/UM870 Slim barebones making it $204. May be better for people who have spare RAM/SSD. https://store.minisforum.com/prod...0999559413

Some brands of these mini PCs (not sure about this specific one) have had reviews calling out the presence of malware on the system. The malware was present in the recovery partition as well, meaning a complete format / reinstall is needed to remove it.

Maybe I'm just out of the loop, but isn't this a great price for a PC in general? I just bought some refurb Dells mini PCs and they were 300-400 for 5 year old Intel. I kind of want to get one just to play around with it.

Two questions

Can there be malware in the various firmware that's on the motherboard components?

How does it activate Windows automatically upon reinstall? Is the license info stored somewhere on the motherboard or something?

It is definitely possible to write malware into the firmware at which point it is nearly impossible to remove.

Not alleging this computer, or any computer on the market, is doing this. But it is very much within the technical and financial possibilities.
