The diaphragm inside these masks makes them better than most other disposables. The seal it makes helps you to breathe through the filter instead of around it.
Pretty good price this time around.

Yes, in that they will be highly effective at blocking things coming in -- no, in that because of the valve, they won't block things going out.

I have 4 boxes of these in my garage, certain there is no way I paid $60 for them ($15 per box of 10).

So not sure this is a great deal.

Probably want to check other front page deals.

With that said, I do use them and find them very good. Extremely useful in the northeast for leaf work given how dry it's been…saved me from inhaling all the dust.

I tried to use n95 masks when we had wildfire smoke blowing in. They didn't filter sh!t. Virus particles are even smaller. How would they filter them effectively?
I guess surgeons wear them for decoration

Was in London last month and couldn't believe how many people were wearing masks on the tube. Turns out it's from the soot and sure enough wife blew her nose with noticeable soot. Probably the same anywhere you go on a subway. No issues on buses or trains.

Had 2 boxes of these. Roughly 25% of them the straps snapped before even getting it on. So factor that it.

Maybe it wasn't fit-tested or you got a fake? There are lots of fake masks being sold. Homedepot should have a clean supply chain, or so one would hope.

My understanding is that even if a viral particle is technically smaller, the particle would have to go through a maze to get to the other side. A maze where it's barely small enough to navigate without hitting a wall, and if it does hit a wall it may get stuck. Or get stuck on another particle that already got stuck.

Are these good for working in attics to avoid inhaling the insulation?

Did you pre stretch them before putting them on, is that when they broke? I find pre stretching the 3m ones help them fit around my giant head.
