There are so many models, I'm editing to add a link to
this comparison chart [reddit.com] (update here's an even
MORE DETAILED COMPARISON CHART [reddit.com] thanks JohnS3825) along with this advice from my comment below :
1) If all you need is vacuuming, then just get the most basic Q5 model. They are excellent robot vacs that are quite smart and vacuum well and will last a long time.
2) You don't even really need a self-emptying dock unless you have a heavy hair, carpet, and pet-shedding situation.
3) If mopping is important to you, then the newer, more expensive Qrevo models may be worth it. They have the dual spinning mop design and a dock that disinfects and dries the mops between cycles.
4) Ignore the "obstacle avoidance" feature when choosing a vac. They haven't gotten this right yet on any model so that shouldn't be your deciding factor.
5) To narrow it down further, choose the vac that's right for
your home rather than the one recommended by random strangers. If you have low-clearance furniture you want to vacuum under, then measure that height and it could be a slim model is the only one that could get under it (they do vary -- unfortunately height isn't in the chart linked above). If you have high thresholds to cross between rooms, pick a model that has the clearance to get over the thresholds. If you have high pile carpets, pick a vac that has high clearance or is smart enough not to accidentally mop them.
6) The very newest models (Qrevo Curv and Qrevo Edge) truly do it all. They have this new "DuoDivide" brush and a redesigned side brush that remarkably do not get anything tangled in them. Their self-cleaning docks heat and disinfect the mops better than previous models. But they are crazy expensive and I hestitate to tell anybody to spend that much on a robot vac. By next year they'll probably have these features in models half this price.
QA Note: Though the sale dates are in the past, many of these deals are still available.

These things are incredible. Mine vacuums daily.
also, therefore, how do the Costco price of $500 for Qrevo with accessories or Qrevo S from Amazon / Roborock? Extra accessories vs higher suction.
how should one value the extra supplies? needed within a year.
default is to believe that Costco is the better offer - they generally are.

Stay with what you need within the budget. Highest price doesn't translate to higher life and/or more expensive internal parts nor any better customer service.

The Slim is like a slightly redesigned version of the Master. It's a very new attempt to streamline design by getting rid of the LIDAR turret at the top.
According to Roborock, these are the 3 differences between the two:
1. Navigation and Obstacle Recognition: The Slim utilizes 3D ToF technology, and an Optical Flow Sensor, which Roborock claims provides improved navigation (debatable) and obstacle recognition, and they claim it detects distance more comprehensively and efficiently. The Qrevo Master uses structured light and LDS. This basically means the Master has a traditional spinning LIDAR turret on top of the robot, which is a proven system for navigating your home, whereas the Slim moves the navigation technology into the body of the robot.
2. Lower profile. The height of the Qrevo Slim is 8.2 cm which could increase the reach of your vacuum by allowing it to enter low spaces. The height of Qrevo Master is 10.3 cm. This is very meaningful if you have furniture where that 2cm would make a difference, but meaningless if you don't.
3. Increased Suction Power: Boosts maximum suction power to 11000 Pa, up from 10000 Pa on the Qrevo Master. This is pretty meaningless.
4. The slim has a 10% smaller onboard water tank. This will only affect you on the odd chance that you have a mopping routine that the Master could finish in one tank but the Slim would not.
Here's a decent comparison video [youtube.com]. It appears that the Slim is more likely to get confused or take longer routes but corrects itself reliably.
I personally have the Qrevo Curv and while I love the many features such as the dual anti-tangling system, the powerful disinfecting dock, and the ability to climb over thresholds, in the end I wish I had the Slim, because I have at least six pieces of furniture that the Curv (same height as the Master) can't quite reach under -- but the Slim would. Those 2cm would've made a difference for me.
