You don't have to switch names anymore.
1. Sign out of Xfinity account before searching.
2. When you enter the address, select you are moving here as a new customer.
3. Once you select the plan, it will give an option to create a new account or login. Login with your existing id.
4. It will create a new account and close the old account on your existing login.
5. You will be charged prorated amount on old account and new account starts right away.
6. Your internet will be on for a while but one day it will stop working.
7. If you owned the modem then you can restart the modem and go through activation process on new login and move old modem over. Else use new rental modem for activation.
8. If you have you mobile lines then you can call them to move the lines to new account.

My wife and I have switched accounts for many years every time a deal expires. I started going in store because you get the equipment right away. You will have to constantly replace modems every time you switch but it saves hundreds.

why dont use your own modem? i always call when changing accounts and they are able to switch the modem to new account easily.

Lucky you. I spent the last two days talking to many reps...one transferring to the other...none having a clue...getting sent to a store..there again no clue..got set up on a video call in store...no clue...got transferred to security team..escalation team...still not done. Crazy.

The problem is that when you go to Xfinity Mobile, it was still using your old account which was deactivated. You need to be on Xfinity.com, click on account on top right, click on Account and identity, go to Xfinity ID and security, click on Manage and link accounts, and ensure that your new account number is the default account, otherwise make it default. If you want to look at old billing info, the just use "switch accounts" option in account on top right to temporary switch accounts.

I can see even old account numbers on my account. As long as you have right account number when you talk to reps, then they should not bother you about address on old account.

Not really. The whole thing started with them calling me about their having detected another account at the same address and same name. So they seem to have some process to find these and stop it. Bay be a manual one. So ymmv.

What if you don't have alternative if you use their modem you get unlimited data and only cost 5 dollars that's the setup I have for 200 mb speed but I checked speeds and usually is always over 300 may I'm lucky

Beware of this company. They are beyond miserable to deal with. These days 300 is low if you have several TVS streaming. However if you do this make sure you are ready to cancel a week or more before because they will jack that rate up double at least. They will try to pad the bill shipping you a modem or they will try to ship you some streaming box or stick you don't want. They will also push hard to sell you tv stuff. Canceling with them is a blast as they will put you through the wringer . Set a reminder two weeks out and move to another service. Also check your bandwidth closely as they will try to deliver less than that 300. If you have your own modem they will try and blame it on your equipment. It's a hard sell because they make a fortune renting you equipment. It's the one cable box model. I dumped them from home and business. The trick is rapid and fierce price increases.

I am using internet essential for $10 a month and the speed is just fine with multiple users streaming at the same time. You guys need to stop obsessing with higher speed that you don't need 95% of the time. It's just upselling for no good reason. Okay if you are gaming or everyone in your household streaming 4k simultaneously all day, then you get a pass from me. 🤣🤣

The fact that Xfinity offering the same service at very selective zones for 1/4th of what majority of the users pay is outright illegal.. at this age, internet is a utility like gas and water and these prices should be regulated across the board , at least up until certain speed limits . One paying $80 for 300mbps vs another paying $20 for the same speed is day light robbery ..

Astound deal is much better where I am. 33 after tax for gigabyte for first 6 months, plus free line of unlimited mobile and 400 dollar gift card (plus 100 for cashback site)
