I have this saw. Very capable. It always works even after sitting in the garage for months/years (which is more than I can say for my neighbors gas one)

Seems like a good deal. I don't have this one but have multiple other brands and one similar to this one and its great. I also have gas chain saws but the beauty of these is they just work when you need them. They are so handy.

No need to worry about if carb is gummed up or warming it up. This would be great for limbs and small tree trunks. It says 50 min of run time but I suggest it would be more like 30 Min. The battery would be the only part of this deal that is lukewarm. Don't get me wrong $140 for saw and this battery is a good deal. However, I prefer a bigger battery but your needs might fit into that 30 min window I mentioned.

How does this compare to the dewalt 20v for $89? I'm guessing higher voltage produces higher power but less run time?

Bagged one. Had this on my radar for a while. Not necessarily a great deal but I will be needing the saw soon and could use the extra battery so wtf, buy now decide later.

The dewalt is very capable.
They are similar but this here is a more powerful, 16" vs 12" so can cut bigger stuff.

I Keep in mind the dewalt doesn't come with a battery. If you already have dewalt 20V a battery then might be the better option.

Thanks for the insight. I did not have battery but bought a used 5ah with charger from Amazon for $99.
Contemplating if I should return the Dewalts and get this instead..

I'm more of an Ego and Dewalt guy, but I do own the Greenworks 40V 8" Pole Saw w/ a 2.0Ah battery and it works really well. Been using it off and on for 7 years.

I have both DeWalt 20v, and Greenworks 60v equipment. I almost bought the DeWalt chainsaws, but skipped because of the comments about leaking oil.

My 5.0Ah Greenworks battery, that came with the mowers is completely dead. I use the 2.0Ah battery from the trimmer in the mower, but I have to wait for it to charge several times to complete the job, so I was already shopping for a new battery. It runs at least $80 to get a 2.5Ah battery. You can get a 5Ah generic version for around $90, so I was leaning that direction.

This deal may be the way to go for me, but I am in a unique situation.

I'm slowly built pretty much a full line of green work 60 volt. They seem to be very capable. We'll use the blower everyday, and the other tools pretty periodically. Batteries in the last a long time. However two of mine are kind of getting weak now. I just wait till the deal like this comes along where the tool with the battery is based on the same price as just the battery

Greenworks has an excellent warranty system, you might try contacting them about the dead battery, assuming its not like 10 years old or something.

This IS a great deal. I bagged 2 just for the spare battery and parts. Show me something comparable past or future. The battery would cost this much.

The battery installation into the saw looks like it might be incompatible with the "pro" 60v line which I've had for about 6-7 years.

Might this be the same 60v physical connector that my older greenworks 60v use?

Anyone else have the issue of the chain coming off often? Other than that I like mine.
