As a Wyze owner, I will say that they are doing a lot of bullshit lately.

The app changes really has a lot of issues, as you can see complaints on their forums.

Secondly, Cam Lite users were previously able to filter 'person' in the Events tab, but now they've "removed" it in an attempt to get people to pay for Cam Plus.

I had to revert to an older version of the app, install the apk, and then turn off App Updates to get this back.

Wyze are at that point were they are getting greedy and desperate to squeeze money out of their base, now that they've gotten some wider marketshare, to the point of doing some slimy tactics with pushing their subscription in subtle ways.

Yeah. I've been with them since since their very first camera... Used to love them - have sold a lot of friends/family on them due to cost and their previous quality/reliability. I do pay for Cam Plus (have for a couple years), but even with that I find their services to be increasingly unreliable. I used to have no issues viewing cams and using the various features of each model, but I frequently have problems even connecting to a camera nowadays (intermittent), and recordings have also become unreliable (sometimes it triggers and sometimes it doesn't)... So I'm looking for another solution now - if I can't depend on live view on demand and I can't trust it's going to record when it needs to, what's the actual value here, a false sense of security?

Sorry to you OP.Wyze cams are absolute garbage value now compared to TP-link which offers a superior product with no subscription fees for person detection/etc. Tapo C120 takes a steaming dump all over this camera and can be had for just a couple more dollars. When you factor in needing a subscription for anything useful there's no price at which Wyze is attractive.
Thanks for your opinion... I find them to be great and find the C120 to be crap. the TP link are slow to respond, fails to connect, big and ugly, and a horrible location for the SD card and power cord. I guess we all have our opinions.

I am not saying that the image is the best quality, but Wyze 2K is much clearer compared to Wyze 1080p cams.
I just hope the Wyze V4 cameras support some RTSP or ONVIF for recording to a local NVR or home server. I know there are something called Wyze bridge program, but that didn't work very well; laggy.

Wyze bridge is still very buggy. That was the last straw for me. I dumped all my Wyze gear months ago and couldn't be happier.

To be fair, I presume once tapo gets everyone on their ecosystem, they'll do the same thing as wyze. Same corporate scheme over and over again just like Uber undercutting and taking out all the taxis and then raising rates to same as taxi

You are probably right, but at least I can have a product that works right now VS a known bad deal.

I have about 12 Wyze cams, mostly v2 and v3's plus a vacuum and a doorbell. Either way, I'm tired of paying them subscription and dealing with a overtasked app. Slowly switching to Eufy and couldn't be happier.

I hate Wyze's latest app update. There used to be a button to turn the camera on and off easily. Now you have to navigate to do it and the new app update freezes quite a bit.
I rated the app down because of that ON/OFF button which was too easily tapped by mistake when navigating the app main view. Lol. Interesting that I hate the button that you love.

There's a quick power on off right on the preview. It couldn't be any easier or quicker to access.

I've been there since the beginning like everyone else. I pay for a single cam plus subscription and everything else is running on cam lite. It might leave some things to be desired but for my basic security coverage it works reasonable. When somebody walks onto my property I get a loud phone notification and any events are recorded it's been some time since I've had to go to a camera and actually remove the SD card to view something. One of my latest purchases is the wyse s scale and I'm liking how it sends the data to my fitness apps for me to show my doctor pretty convenient for $15 delivered. I've got two of the new battery cam pro to install and that's going to be the end of my wyse purchases. I'm not going to subscribe with those I will only retrieve the footage if something happens I have other cameras giving basic coverage on the area.
