The app changes really has a lot of issues, as you can see complaints on their forums.
Secondly, Cam Lite users were previously able to filter 'person' in the Events tab, but now they've "removed" it in an attempt to get people to pay for Cam Plus.
I had to revert to an older version of the app, install the apk, and then turn off App Updates to get this back.
Wyze are at that point were they are getting greedy and desperate to squeeze money out of their base, now that they've gotten some wider marketshare, to the point of doing some slimy tactics with pushing their subscription in subtle ways.

I just hope the Wyze V4 cameras support some RTSP or ONVIF for recording to a local NVR or home server. I know there are something called Wyze bridge program, but that didn't work very well; laggy.

Wyze cams are absolute garbage value now compared to TP-link which offers a superior product with no subscription fees for person detection/etc. Tapo C120 takes a steaming dump all over this camera and can be had for just a couple more dollars. When you factor in needing a subscription for anything useful there's no price at which Wyze is attractive.

I've been there since the beginning like everyone else. I pay for a single cam plus subscription and everything else is running on cam lite. It might leave some things to be desired but for my basic security coverage it works reasonable. When somebody walks onto my property I get a loud phone notification and any events are recorded it's been some time since I've had to go to a camera and actually remove the SD card to view something. One of my latest purchases is the wyse s scale and I'm liking how it sends the data to my fitness apps for me to show my doctor pretty convenient for $15 delivered. I've got two of the new battery cam pro to install and that's going to be the end of my wyse purchases. I'm not going to subscribe with those I will only retrieve the footage if something happens I have other cameras giving basic coverage on the area.
