Just left my local Home Depot and picked up this Husky heavy duty workbench tool chest. My local store had it discounted from $998 tom $798, but the discount is not showing online.

Not bad, though this deal seems better for the average joe and is already marked down to 798 online so shouldn't be YMMV other than stock: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky.../319594785 obviously not as wide or deep, but a lot more space if you can use a top and bottom chest config and also Heavy duty. But you pay a significant premium for length and depth both of which this has more of so not saying it's a bad deal just throwing this out there as something for casual buyers to consider.

Yes, I was looking at the one you listed as well. Both are very nice units, but have different uses. For me, having a workbench was more important for my needs right now, so I went with the one I posted. But truthfully, I might end up going back and purchasing the cabinet/chest combo as well, because they look do darned good together, and I could always use the extra storage.

Nice so this is a maybe though i'll check my local shop. I also was hoping price would drop on their other standard duty Husky tool boxes/chests

I'm in Michigan. I've been to 4 different Home Depot stores that had this in stock, and each store still has these marked down to $799

All drawers glide effortlessly on 120 lbs. rated ball-bearing slides and feature soft-closing mechanisms to prevent slamming. The full-width drawer and 9 in. D bottom drawers all have a double set of slides to accommodate heavier items. On the right-hand side of the workbench is an integrated power strip with 6 outlets and 2 USB ports that will allow you to charge tools, batteries and other electronic devices. Next to the power strip are cord storage hooks and a bottle opener.
