Bought this exact one yesterday after looking at 85" TCL for a month...and getting it delivered tomorrow

The non-qled S4 is cheaper by $50 at Walmart but Q5 is better.

The non-qled S5 is same price and newer but Qled Q5 is better.

The Qled Q6 TCL is better but $150 more and not worth it for me.

S4 < S5 < Q5 < Q6

Was hoping to get some better price but it's not going down at all below this ..

wanted the Google Assistant compatibility too from S5 but not with the downgrade of picture quality from q5 to s5

Used my credit card with extended warranty to extend the warranty beyond the 1 year which we get with this. Register as soon as you get the serial number so that you don't have to look for papers when something goes wrong during claim.

75" TCL Q6 is $499 in store costco if you want a smaller size screen. Great clearance deal available in almost every Costco in my area (DMV)

My hang up here is that this is a Fire tv as the Ecosystem. I have not had one in a few years, but my original experience was one I received as a prize at a previous job. It was a god awful UI and sluggish. Anyone have first hand knowledge of these sets? Think I may stay with Roku.

Most of these lower tier tvs have slow af OS. That's whats keeping me from pulling the trigger.

I use Roku device separately so the TV acts as just the screen...Roku has been good to me since 8 years but now I need Fire TV for some hack and sack stuff

If you're in the Apple ecosystem, you could always consider just adding an AppleTV down the road

I have a Roku TCL that I have on attached to. I haven't had to use the Roku front end in years

Honestly I just grab a Google TV dongle which comes with remote and after updates turn the Internet off on the TV itself. For the $30 or whatever it costs I feel like it's worth the price. That said even those will get sluggish over time compared to the ~$100 options that googles better box, Nvidia shield or apple tv provide.

Man it's cheap so something has to give and stop complaining. FYI even some top of the line TV's such as Samsung Q90 series has slow and buggy OS. Slab on an Apple TV and you are golden

I've used AppleTV for years and am always shocked at how many people put up with horrible native tv apps.

This doesn't have local dimming. I find this to be a game changer with the TV I have and would hold off for black Friday. If you can't get something decent then, I'd wait for the "big game" deals as a backup plan since it's not too far off.
