The refurb came and was in new condition, honestly my theory about these (and Roborock, etc.) is that they wet test every one and can't get every bit of water out so what they don't move quickly gets marked "refurbished" due to the risk of mold or other damage from sitting around with water in them while wrapped up in the box and don't want to cannibalize new prices with steep discounts, outsource the refurb warranty, etc. YMMV as I'm sure they send out some returns too.
Had an extended warranty included through Allstate, but literally wanted to send the entire unit back including dock for battery service, giant PITA.
Good robot, but would definitely buy new, not worth the hassle or lottery on getting a nice unit for a discount.
