Worst failure rate at scale on backblaze report. I'll wait for a reasonable WD deal.

At 2.5M hours mtbf, this could be used for NVR/DVR system storage.

The 18TB versions are slightly lower per TB, but when I need to buy three, it's compelling to get the slightly smaller ones to save a bit knowing these will all be replaced in 4-5 years.

That is just the regular rotating sales price. It's on every two to three weeks. Nothing special. Hopefully Black Friday would bring a real deal.

Yup! Every HD failure I've had was from a Seagate drive. I've got WD's that are 20 yrs old that still haven't failed on me yet (knock on wood).

I've had WD fail too. I worry past the 5 year mark on any of them.

I have a Unifi UNAS just waiting for drives. I check for WD Red deals everyday. Praying Black Friday comes through this year.

Bought this last BF sale for $199 for NAS setup. So far working good. It is a bit noisy though (not too much). Make sure you are having this harddrive at place where it won't bother with noise.

I will never buy Seagate drives again. I had a bunch of them before but all of them stopped working after like 2-3 years. All I use now is WD Red. I have a 10 year old WD Red drive (WD40EFRX) on my unraid server and still works great.

Prices have really gone up. A year ago during BF I bought TWO 16TB IronWolf PRO drives for $399. I'd like to get two more 16TB to fill my NAS, but not at current prices. I thought storage gets cheaper over time.
