With a EG4 Chargeverter connected to xr60 solar inputs on the F3800 you could power with generator and continue to use the 240v outlets. Or buy the Anker Home power panel which works as a bidirectional charger and automatic transfer switch and it works with ac coupled solar

FYI I looked into it and you can't charge via AC and output 240V simultaneously. It only charges via 120 AC and then, only 120V ports work. Disappointing as a home backup. I was hoping to use this with a 120V generator to recharge it.

I hate this kind of marketing. Bold text is mine:

"BACKUP POWER FOR UP TO 2 WEEKS: By itself, Anker SOLIX F3800 has 3.84kWh to power your family's needs for about one day. If that's not enough, add up to six battery packs to expand capacity to 26.9kWh. And for extreme situations, add another Anker SOLIX F3800 and 12 battery packs for an enormous 53.8kWh capacity. That's enough power to comfortably live for two weeks!"

So, add a second $4,000 kit, and 12 batteries at $1,800 each. That's an additional $25,600 - plus tax - to make this product reach the "backup power for two weeks" mark.

I could have a natural gas whole-home generator installed for less than that.

FYI I looked into it and you can't charge via AC and output 240V simultaneously. It only charges via 120 AC and then, only 120V ports work. Disappointing as a home backup. I was hoping to use this with a 120V generator to recharge it.

Can you not recharge with the generator and just not use your 240v circuits just while it's recharging?

Also 50kwh is no where enoigh for 2 weeks

Their estimates of how long an outage would last to power a house are completely baseless. The average household consumes approximately 35 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per day. The F3800 + expansion battery has a capacity of less than 6 kWh.

It's unfortunate that they choose to engage in such blatant false advertising.

but it does sound like a lawnmower which is annoying after a while
