Still working for me so far. The phone got November update a couple of days ago, but it didn't change anything in regards it working with T-Mobile.

Make sure go into the Settings and Network & Internet. Under this make sure to disable eSim and enable the SIM card. It should work.

Correct I received the phone today and tested with the expired T-Mobile SIM card and it accepted it successfully. It also didn't accept the sim from AT&T and Mint mobile.

I just received this phone today and verified that it still accepted my expired T-Mobile SIM card successfully and rejected two other SIM cards from different carriers (at&t and mint mobile). So ignore previous message about not working with T-Mobile SIM card.

Just as a PSA, anyone who recently bought this phone should consider getting the free Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ for just the $20 service plan for a month.

When I tried ordering online today, it made me call in to Metro to order the tablet which I did successfully.

Metro didn't send me a sim card, but I activated it through eSim. Under Network and Internet of the Settings, there is an option to turn on/off the sim card, make sure to turn off the eSim and turn on the T-Mobile SIM card. This phone works with T-Mobile SIM well

Do we know that this just requires of one month of paid service after activation, or if it has to be activated the entire duration before being unlocked? I know it may be uncertain if the unlock period is 6 months or 1 year, but either way, is one month paid service going to cut it?

Also, will this work on an at&t mvno? Other moto phones I got in the past on cheaper deals did, but not this exact phone.

only 1 month service and wait for 6 months or 1 year. Other Metro phones work on FreeUp (At&t MVNO)
