Can work wirelessly to a Roku TV even without Wi-Fi. Works best when connected with a USB C to HDMI or DisplayPort adapter. The phone screen can be off and you can use a physical keyboard and mouse. Or you can use the phone as a virtual keyboard and a touchpad or air mouse.
You see to be knowledgeable about RokuOS
What's the absolute cheapest way of getting something that has RokuOS on it? I purchased the Onn Subwoofer from Walmart for $10 because it was on clearance but don't actually have a Roku myself. I had "rented" a Roku from Walmart just to verify it worked and was turned off by its clunky navigation. I really don't plan to have a "real" Roku either because I don't watch TV - just my own movies and music
Is there something I can "sideload" RokuOS onto like run it in a VM or similar? Or is there an Android out there that can emulate a RokuOS?
Onn Subwoofer (there's a review from someone in 3/19/2021 who got it for $20 but I was lucky to get it for half that):

I don't think you will be able to use the Subwoofer without a Roku TV. The Roku TV Soundbar states, "Roku TV Wireless Soundbar is designed to work seamlessly with any Roku TV. If your current TV isn't a Roku TV, you won't be able to use this soundbar." It is also controlled by an existing Roku remote. I'd figure it would be the same for other off branded Roku speakers.

Is the SIM card preloaded for this phone. How long do I have to activate it by. Is it 30 days.

Seems like it's shipping with eSIM and not physical SIM?

Anyone can tell us what the model number for this is? I tried to look online and couldn't find this information. Should start with a "XT"

Much thanks, then according to this, it should ALSO work on AT&T

Just as a PSA, anyone who recently bought this phone should consider getting the free Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ for just the $20 service plan for a month.

When I tried ordering online today, it made me call in to Metro to order the tablet which I did successfully.
Thanks for the tip! I just now ordered the phone. I guess there's no way to buy the Samsung tablet until the phone arrives, is there? As it looks like I can't sign into my Metro account until I have a phone number, and I'm guessing I won't get that until the phone arrives and I activate it.

Any idea when the tablet deal might end? My phone should come on Monday. I should've bought it sooner, saw this deal a few days ago, but was hanging until today in case any better BF deals came up.

Can I cancel autopay as soon as I get this and set up my account? I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but I don't want to mess up the dealio.

You're going to have to wait til you get the phone as you'll need an authentication text to log in to your account for the purchase. Just check the tablet deal when you get your phone and hope for the best.

This is $65 with Total (by Verizon) and that one unlocks in 60 days post activation. The issue is Total will need mandatory number port in and verification via 3rd party.

Alternatively, it's also available with Straight Talk for $130 for 3 months of service paid and also unlocks in 60 days post activation. No 3rd party verification needed.

This metro deal is not worth IMHO because of uncertainty with unlock (nobody knows with surety if it unlocks after 1 year of activation or after being on active plan with metro for 1 year. It has not been a year since Metro changed it's unlock policy in May 2024). That aside, it's not a great value to keep a mid-range device unusable as a phone for 1 year and wait for unlock. Others may differ in opinion and I respect that.

Metro by T-Mobile unlocks mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.

The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.

One hundred eighty (180) days must have passed since the device's activation date.

They changed the policy earlier this year in May:

I didn't know about AT&T and I doubt it works on AT&T.

Correct. Actually no need to cancel anything as autopay isn't on by default. So after a month, your account will close.
