While it might be easier, a gaming PC may teach the how to maintain it themself, and get into computers more and more likely they will get into a STEM field (high paying career). This is how I got into the field as a kid.

Anyone know what the pros and cons are with buying from BestBuy through Ebay compared to the BestBuy website?

My Kids are asking for a PS5. They currently have Xbox series X with like 3 years of Brazilian Game Pass Ultimate left. What are the advantages of this PC over the PS5 they are asking for. Total noob when it comes to gaming PCs.

If I was dealing with kids, the PS5 is an easier option. The advantages it's a full PC but that require someone will need to maintain it. Sony 1st party games come out on PS5 first, then released a year or two after on PC. There aren't many games you can't get on PC. You'll probably need controllers too raising the cost of this.

Hell yeah, the price range I was looking at, able to pickup in person and not worry about it being tossed around, also extended return window if any issues Christmas morning.

I bought the iBuyPower computer from Costco a few months back (similar specs) and I returned it because it would freeze and shut down trying to run imaging programs my micro PCs are able to run without problem. I returned and exchanged for a new one and it has the same problems so I'm going to return once I find a better option, possibly just build my own. Not sure if its my model model but I'd be concerned about buying this computer from eBay

Just ordered 1 from my local Bestbuy. Too lazy to even pick it up as delivery was tomorrow. Now I can relegate my 7 yr old HP Pavilion to other use and retire my home-made rig. Hopefully with the 4060, I'll be able to go above 100hz on my nice new Asus 38 and 60hz on the 2 other connected Dell and HP monitors as well. Now I wished I hadn't (just recently) blown the few bucks swapping out the HP's PS, wireless card and trying to quiet down the fans.

You can you game pass on PC as well so might be the better option

Probably at the moment. It depends on high end/low end, etc. Likely good enough in this PC although I think the 4060 GPU has been out for what seems like forever at this point.

13th and 14th gen have issues. Obviously not every CPU, but a definite increase in manufacturing issues.
