I've put 70,000 miles on a car with Comma (maybe 50k with Comma engaged). I'd pay full price without thinking twice. Comma really shines on long drives.

For the Chevy Bolt EV & EUV Premiere trim with ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), it can keep you in the lanes and steer up to a certain degree. It greatly upgrades the stock ACC since the LKAS (lane keep assist system) just ping pongs you between the lane.

If you use FrogPilot (works best for GM cars), it makes the driving experience much more pleasant on long highway drives.

There is a mode where the lateral control will keep you in the lane while you can still use the accelerator/brake or one-pedal. If you have an older model, it can still do it but you'll need what's called a "comma pedal" to make it work.

Not sure about compatability in the future for the Benz, but considering BMW wants a subscription for the heated seats, I would say that's probably for sure off the table.

I think it has more to do with how much access does these new vehicles gives via that OBD port & cruise control. For most vehicles, the unit can't access the gas & brakes directly, so it uses the stock Radar system to basically change the speed and distance control variably to make it work. This is why the these cars have no support for experimental features. For e.g., if the unit detects a stop sign / red signal, it's unable to stop the car because the Radar doesn't detect an obstacle in front and there's no way for the unit to manipulate the radar settings to stop the car (it can slow it down, change distance but not stop). Hence, the experimental modes aren't supported in these cars (without external overrides which could be dangerous).
Better now, you no longer need ODB port. Leave it off if you just care about driving, and install it if you want the dashcam experience - upload drives, SSH for developers.

If compatible with your car, it makes Tesla technology look like it's from the '90s

I've read that Comma.ai lets a Chevy Volt drive itself like a Tesla.

Should be a great bolt on "FSD" but functionality greatly depends on exact car models. I don't blame them for that, they're limited to what kind of sensors the vehicle already comes with (besides their camera). I find it interesting that older models of the same vehicle I own are compatible yet my current model is not. I suspect this is from lack of testing, since newer vehicles are more likely to have a larger suite of sensors to utilize. e.g. I have a 2025 Honda CRV Touring Hybrid but the latest model I see "compatible" is the 2022.
In case, no one replied to you a lot of manufacturers have been abled encryption for their in car communication. This is greatly complicated, ability to inject their own messages into the cars can bus

It works on Mazda CX-5. Better so on 2022+ models as it can take much tighter curves (2x times compared to previous ones) and you don't have to keep hands on steering. With SunnyPilot or FrogPilot, you also get features like you controlling the gas & brake and the car takes care of steering (even after pressing the brake) and auto adjusting the cruise speed based on speed limit of the roads.
Was thinking of getting this for my 22. Do you actually trust it 100% or have any scary moments using it?

in 4 1. It seems straightforward to install and set up. I drive 60+ miles a day, so this should help with the stress.

The data shows ping pong ing averages more time center lane than trying to just stay centered. Maybe the drunks know something afterall.

Can this also operate as a dash cam? Been needing to add a dash cam to my 22 Palisade, so if this can pull double duty it's a no-brainer for me

Still need more donations for new model Toyota and Lexus which is understandable, hopefully soon.

Yes. It keeps the footage for (I believe) 3 days.
