If you want a tablet too then this decided it. But the comparison is off because you have to get a Keyboard for the Surface Pro and it's either $50-80 offbrand -- not as good or use the older Microsoft kb for $100 use or the newest one for $350 brand new which change the cost completely. $800 + ($50 or $350 for a nice keyboard).
I happened to have an offbroad kb. I would never buy the newest $350 kb. SP11 is not my main device.

I was able to run local 7B parameter LLM at 10 tokens per second and this machine was still use-able! It never pegged the CPU (cannot run off NPU and no video card support) but 10 tokens is respectable.
My M4Pro 20GPU did 40-50 tokens/s.
The Intel 1260p would have crawled for 3 tokens per second and killed the entire CPU. SnapDragon up to 60% CPU and I can still play videos at the same time without any issues.
Once apps are using the NPU I expect pretty damn good performance. I'm happy with my purchase since I can use this for basic local LLM now and hope more support on the NPU later on. The NPU TOPS rating is similar to my 20GPus on the m4 pro chip
I actually prefer BB. There are at least a dozen within driving distance to me, their deals are just as good or better if you're open to considering their open-box deals. If you buy a lot, their BB Total membership gives 60 day returns and I generate tons of rewards points which is better value than any MC deal and free AppleCare+ 2YR for Apple purchases. HUGE savings, again, if you can't get enough tech!
