Model: SOG PowerPint Multi-Tool - at Academy Sports
Deal HistoryÂ
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
This is a nice multi-tool. Smooth action and has many useful tools... But you will hate it to hell every time the cogs at the axis catch a finger when you open it.
That's the PowerAccess Well Rounded[amazon.com] for anyone curious. The black oxide finish doesn't wear as well as the stone wash finish. It's missing scissors, a serrated blade and a saw, which are often found in full size multi-tools. Great sale price, though.
Also, the PowerPint Mini is quite small. It's a better choice if you want to pocket the tool. Other big differences are this one has a serrated blade and some slightly funky left handed scissors. The geared pliers offer compound leverage, helping to make up for the smaller size. It takes twice the motion to open the handles, though. The PPM has a lot of fans out there and fills a niche largely unaddressed since Leatherman dropped the Juice.
Thanks for the post, OP. My kid asked for a pocket knife so I've been waiting for a deal on this. They'll think this PPM is even cooler and it will help keep my tools from disappearing.
FYI - if anybody wants to make use of the 1/4" bit driver feature, here's a nice set of Tekton[amazon.com] bits for $5.

Good price. The scissors don't open wide because of how the spring is designed. They are also left handed scissors. The scissors are thick at the tips which makes precision work hard. I fixed that by thinning the scissor blades close to the tip.
I was going to buy it but saw the SOG PowerAccess is also on sale for $29.98 in black! 3oz heavier but that's ok for me.
The power access doesn't list the saw or scissors in the description or in the pics or in the reviews, I'm wondering if this is an older model that lacks those tools. Can't believe it would leave the scissors out of a bigger tool!
I knew I jumped on it too early at $35 đ. It really is a good tool, definitely good for the money. The scissors isn't spring loaded and that always really bothers me

Glad to see it's sold and shipped by Amazon and the listing links to the Sog Store on Amazon. Hopefully that reduces the chances of this being a counterfeit.
Recently I've been burned by some fake knives and multi tools from disreputable eBay and Amazon sellers âšī¸

If anyone is wondering about getting a SOG multitool over a Leatherman, stop wondering. My SOG has served me well for over a decade. My only issue is the scissor but it still cuts (rarely do I need a flimsy scissor in a multitool over a blade).
By the way, this may be the Mini but it also comes with their compound leverage plier mechanism which makes the pliers very strong.
This is a nice, compact mini tool you can toss in a pocket that manages to pack most of the tools of a full size, and most are useable quality. Tools are outside accessible, and the compound pliers open very smoothly. For this price, if you want a smaller multi tool and like the tool set, I'd go for it!
I bought 4 (1 for me and each son) of these Rover Tacs a year ago and these have held up well. $18 on Amazon and they are 100% stainless steel, have 16 tools including scissors and a serrated blade. No corrosion and smooth operation. Must have for the glove box of every vehicle.

As someone already mentioned, the PowerAccess is also on sale for $30, normally $70. It's missing a few tools from the Pint but is a bit bigger and more robust. I actually went with the PowerAccess Deluxe for $40. Includes a sheath and bits. Nice little kit for 50% off.
