"Sold and shipped by Beach Camera", not directly from Walmart, fyi.
Consider the Hisense S7 Canvas. I think the frame is higher quality, the OS is better (Android TV). Picture quality is apparently slightly worse according to RTINGS. We're really liking ours in our bedroom. $999 on sale for the 65". Warning that you will need at least a recessed outlet because it doesn't have a external box like the Samsung. I just installed a Legrand OnQ box and put my outlet into that. Works nicely.

I have 2 Samsung frame TV's and 2 LG OLED's. As far as picture quality, there's not much of a comparison. The OLED is better. It is much crisper, vibrant, and handles the motion better (sports action like a football being thrown thru the air). Clearly the main novelty of this is the "picture hanging on a wall" aspect. But the TV watching suffers a bit because of that. It's fine on its own, but can't hold up to the OLED as far as picture quality.

Thanks. The wife seems to value the looks more than the picture quality.

Thanks. So where are the "guts" of the Hisense tv if there isn't a control unit?

I was concerned about running the non-wall rated wire of the Samsung through the wall to the control unit. How do you fellow "Framers" deal with that issue? People have expressed concern about rats biting the wires and so forth.

You have to pay monthly to access a built in feature? I'm suddenly like this a lot less, just out of principle…..
I hate the idea of a subscription for something like this too but also the HDMI sync box that you don't need to purchase, if you have a capable TV and pay Philips' $3 subscription, is $250. That means you'd have to use the HDMI sync box for 7 years and hope it lasts that long and isn't obsolete before then to make the HDMI box cheaper than the subscription.

That along with the fact that you can still just purchase the external box if you want instead of subscribing makes me not really hate this one as much. It's essentially just an app from Philips rather than a built in feature that you're paying for extra hardware for so it's kind of like complaining that the built in Netflix app requires a subscription to use.

I think it was at launch. Samsung had an aggressive launch sale. It was like $989 or somethin with the extra bezel.

Also the PQ on these Frame TVs is mediocre to poor. The reviews are too kind. I'm still considering one for my bar in my newly renovated great room(still in progress), but the poor pq has pushed me away lately. These have their purpose, but they are overpriced. I mean you can buy a 65 inch OLED for this price and it is almost as thin with superior picture quality. I understand the differences and purpose of the frame. Make one with the guts and screen of the Samsung s95D. Now that would be a great product, although pricey.

Most people buying this are going for aesthetics and not picture quality. Yes I know there are better TVs but this one will fit my living decor better and if I really want to watch TV I'll go to my media room.

Picture quality grumbles are overblown in my opinion. I think vast majority of consumers would say it looks great. I wouldn't recommend it for a home theater setup but if you're using it for streaming shows/movies its performs well enough. Yeah you can get a better panel for the same price. You're obviously paying extra for the Frame gimmick.
